Run flats fit on after market wheels?

I dont know much about run flats but i'm interested in a set of MINI replica wheels online but want to be sure that the stock run flat tires are okay to fit on them.. does the wheel type make a difference or can run flats be mounted to any wheel/rim?

thanks!

They can be mounted to any wheel as long as they are the right size.

Yes they can if the right size wheel....but why? The greatest benefit of going to aftermarket wheels should be lighter weight which improves the handling of your MINI. Its the reduction in unsprung or unmanageable weight. Run flats are heavy compared to non run flats therefore mounting them on lighter wheels defeats the aftermarket wheel weight advantage.

Right. Run flats are not only heavier, but they really mess up the ride quality and don't offer any better performance.

Do yourself a favor and skip the run flats. They suck. Get regular high performance tires. Just always have a charged cell phone and a AAA or similar type membership.

OP is looking at replica OEM wheels. They aren't going to be light.

OP is obviously just interested in a look at low cost.

Yeah true I'm not looking for a track car.. I have the 17" stock wheels and the dealer put on new tires before delivery, so it wouldnt make sense, at least for now, to ditch the run flats I have on there.. I love the look of the replica wheels im looking at but cant afford the genuine ones.. link below

It's good to know that it was obvious to you. Now that the OP has responded it is apparent his intent. At the time of my post his intent was not apparent.....back off!

I would be very cautious about 'replica' wheels. You have no idea who or how they were manufactured. If they came from some knockoff black market operation in china you could be looking at wheel failure in a very short time. Labels can say anything and 100+ bucks a corner is pretty cheap for designer rims. IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE....

thats a very good point actually.. my brother purchased gorgeous 19" BMW replica wheels for his 5 series, and he severely bent two of them on one bad pothole last week..

Im just so surprised on how expensive OEM wheels are.. JCW wheels are over 2,000!

You can do better then that. For that price you can acctually get some okay performance wheels.
