Alright, I ordered some wheels and had them put on today. The installer said that they don't fit flush with the hub. Not terribly bad, but noticeable above 50 mph.

Can someone tell me how to correct this? Will wheelspacers do the trick?

TIA
-Chris

Sounds like they have the wrong centerbore. Do they have centering rings? These wheels have a 73 mm centerbore but use various size centering rings (56.1 mm for the MINI) to allow a perfect fit. This pic shows the old centering rings from a Miata application (54 mm ???)

You need to get the correct centering rings. On the picture above, you see that
black ring in the center of the wheel? That's a centering ring.

You will need to get one for that wheel that is for the Mini (56.1mm diameter).

That's all.

Awesome! Thanks kenchan!

Alright, question number 2... where can I find centering rings?

What wheels do you have? Where did you get them?

Andy, I got some cheapo wheels from AIR Dynamic Racing (Volution wheels to be exact)... knockoffs. I would rather have gotten name brand wheels, but could not afford them right now. Unfortuantely, I had to get something because a nasty pothole gave my all-season Goodyear's a bubble.

Your best bet would be to take that centering ring off and either
measure the diameter using a digital caliper, ..unless of course,
some one can get youthe exact centering ring from the manufacturer
(best way).
