Possessed '06 MCS Parking lights Blink Flash on Startup...

Okay - I've searched and read the Stickies but cannot find any info on this.

I think my MCS 06 is possessed.

When I start my '06 MCS, my parking lights flash on, off, on, off fast, on, off, then off.

People have seen it and tell me it's so "CUTE" There's that word again, "CUTE" . My wife says, "CUTE but MEAN".

Is this normal or do I have a wiring fault somewhere? Or is my MCS trying to speak to me in code?

If you need a video pls let me know and I'll take one.

Thanks, Greg

do you have any LED lights? the car is supposed to do "that" bc it is actually checking for resistance in the system to see if any lights are dead / out. i know if ppl have replaced all their lights with LEDs the car does that light dance with all the outside lights. again, "normal" operation, your just not supposed to see it with regular bulbs...

check your bulbs, maybe you have a bad one?

I'm not sure if they have been replaced with LED's. I have Xeon's. I just bought the car on Memorial Day Weekend. I can tell you the parking lights in the front when on are bright white, brighter then I have seen, not sure if this helps. How would I know? The Fog lights are yellow.

Thanks for the clues, everyone that see's it tells me how damn "CUTE" it is. That's just great, here I am all 225lbs of me in a small CUTE car. LoL now that 's funny.

parking lights should be yellow as well. they are very easy to access. just grab and twist hard (forget which direction). pull the bulb out. youll know if its LED or a regular bulb.

if its an LED set, you will need Load Resistors. Can be had on ebay for 6-10 bucks. you have to wire them across both power lines for each light, as they will simulate an actual bulbs resistance.

There's a good chance the bulbs had been changed to LED's. The original bulbs have a slightly yellow light (standard filament bulb) and the previous owner may have swapped them to make the color match the whiter xenons. Open the hood and you will see backside of the light fixture. Twist the bulb holder to release it from the fixture. BTW, when you mentioned "fog lights", if they are next to the parking light, those are actually the turn signals.

There is no avoiding "cute" comments. You may as well get a proper license plate frame: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-solution.html

Sorry to bring up a dead thread.

The lights in question are below the head lights and face forward. Actually the front lights below the head light is split into 2. Outside Half - running parking lights (white) Inner Half - yellow turn signal bulb.

Below those lights at bottom of front bumper are the HELA (sp?) Yellow Fog Lights. The lights on the side of the bumper/wheel-well in black molding (unless your molding is painted) are yellow - side markers (front side and back side(s) of bumpers.

And yes my front running "parking Lights" are LEDs and when the car is started and lights are off, they dance back and forth. So many comments from people it's crazy.

Just don't like that word "CUTE".

Anyway I just wanted to clarify this.
