does anyone know where to get clear turn lenses for the headlights?

I searched and searched and found a post about someone who crafted their own clear lenses to replace the egg yolks but it appears he only made a set for himself and abandoned the thread. Does anyone know where to get a set of clear turn lenses for my halogen headlights?

YES i know you can just take the egg yolk out and leave the bulb open but i am hoping not to do it that way

MINI doesn't just sell lenses it would have to be a resourced item from another vehicle or use. Good luck with the search.

nOOb here......how do they come out?

I would think finding a clear lens and then a dremel would work?

from the research I've done if you have xenon lights, you can just pop out the egg yolk from the back. if you have halogen it is a bit more complicated but there are def. threads on here about it.

It sounds like they are an option. Hard to understand why there is no source if they are being made.

I'm gonna try a dremel on something like this:

I have halogen lights and popped the amber lens out with my finger, without removing the headlight assembly.
If I could get clear lenses, I would buy them.
As it is, I am doing without any turn signal lens and it is fine.
Since MINI makes the lens for the white turn signal option I am hoping that they will soon make the clear lens available without having to purchase the entire assembly.

Now I am really wanting to get rid of the amber lens in my tail lights!

How did you pop it out with your finger? just curious.

Sorry, but I don't think the Harley lenses will work. The existing lens is 2.92" in diameter (the mounting holes on the Harley lens would still be visible) I've been looking for a suitable lens to modify but haven't found one yet. Some folks just remove the existing lens and run without them (using one of the chrome plated amber bulbs in lieu of the oem bulbs). I'd love to find some clear replacements if anyone knows a source.

I took the bulb out as if to change it then stuck my finger in the hole and pushed the lens out. The lens then fell out of an opening in the bottom of the assembly. Someone else explained how to do it in another thread.

The long, involved method:
Interior/Exterior ::Halogen headlights - remove orange indicator lenses

The easy method:

Just take out the lenses and get clear/chrome dipped bulbs. Nobody will ever know you're missing a lens

Did it, can't even tell I'm running w/o lenses. In order to put lenses in, you have to take the headlight assembly apart; which is way more than I wanted to attempt.

FWIW you can put the lens back in without taking the headlight apart but you need to have small hands.
