My '08 MCS Automatic has developed this strange rattle that happens at idle and sometimes just off idle. It sound like a ping pong ball in a bucket. Any ideas? Thanks very much!
Have you opened the hood and listened to the right-hand (passenger) side of the engine?
If the sound originates from there, you have a timing chain tension issue.
Thanks! The dealer replaced the tensioner about 4 months ago, but I found the problem! The OCC worked itsel loose and was touching the fuse box:-) tightened it up and sound is gone!
