Anybody have 15 inch wheels? Thinking about it for the original look and spirit of the MINI. '04 MCS Will it work or is this a dumb question? Can't seem to find any on Tire rack.

look for a picture of Zamirz's MCS he has very cool 15" rota Circuit 8s.

Chris

This reminds me of a quote; something along the lines of
Are those 20's?
Nah, they're 10's, I keep them clean though.

Okay, someone here on NAM has 15" Rota Circuit 8s w/ Yokohama AVS-ES100s. Post a pic please 'cause they're awesome. I like my 15" 7-holes more all the time because they're light and very unique to MINIs. Love seeing all those 7-holes on that John Cooper Challenge video clip.

Its not the size of your rim, its how you use it.

My mini came with the 15" holeys but I put some 16" V-spokes on for a while. The V-spokes look good but the 15" holeys are a lot lighter! I put the 15"s back on, save weight and gas

I got the 15" 8 spokes with mine, because I didn't want the runflats and was rather shocked at the harshness of the ride with the 16" 5 star design with the runflat tires.

I'm glad I went the way I did because the ride is much less harsh and the all season tires go in the snow quite well...haven't been stuck yet ! At the time I was really in love with the 17" S lites, but the more I looked at my 15" 8 spokes the more I liked them, now when I see the 17" wheels they look to big for the car.
I don't feel that I loose all that much in performance either, the MINI still out handles 99% of the cars on the road !

Yep, that's my car that kahrhoff posted. Here's another shot with my buddy Danny's classic...

EDIT: Also check out Super_MINI's car, he has 15" Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 in white (car is cherry red/white top). He was my inspiration for going with 15s. If you do a search for "best $1400", it'll come up with his post that has a pic or 2.

You can find 15" wheels if you search under the MC not MCS. Both tires have the same fitment. I got white ASA lw5 from Tirerack with Bridgestone Turanza LSV's and I am very happy with the results.

If your looking for the "Classic" look, I would consider Panasports.

Where did you get the 15 in Team Dynamics wheels and the tires?

They look great!

I got my wheels from a Spec Miata racer who is a reseller for TD wheels. They are very popular with Miata's. I think Randy at Webbmotorsports.com can get them for you. So can Outmotoring.com. Thought I'd suggest them first since they are sponsors. You can also search Miata sites to find them.

okmiata.com
good-win-racing.com

PM me and I'll send you the information of the contact I used if your interested.

Hi guys -

I agree that Panasports and Minilites are the way to go for that classic look. What's the best price you guys have found? The best I could do for Panasports is $275 a wheel, but I haven't been scouring the web yet.

Anyone beat that price? What about Minilites?

I bought Minilites for $245 plus shipping a year ago, they may be higher now because of the weak $. Try sales@minilitewheels.com for current prices.

Does Panasport make a 15" wheel that will fit the new Mini? I called Panasport a few weeks ago, and was told that only their 16" wheels work on the new mini.

I found that strange, since the Mini apparently uses a very similar wheel size (bolt pattern, offsets, etc) to like Hondas and VWs, so it's hard to beleive they wouldn't work....

edit - Mid Atlantic Motorsport has 15" panasports for $199. http://www.midatlanticmotorsport.com/panasport_ul_.htm

I would agree about the panasports being the perfect wheel for the MINI. The negatives for me were the price $216 for the 15x7 wheels and I believe the UL series still weighs 15lbs so they really aren't that light for the size. The Panasports look very small on the car for their size so I would consider 16's also.

I have the factory 15" 8-spoke (R82 I think) silver wheels and they look great and very classic in our '02 Cooper CVT. These wheels are very light too (Around 12-13 pounds each).

Wonder if any MCS owners have fitted these in their cars.

Thatnks Ed, and Satay, for the hookup. My heart is with that Panasport/Minilite look so when the time comes I'll look into both of those places for the best deals.

Cheers!
