I read certain R56 front Brake sensor for rear?

I am going stir crazy trying to find rear brake sensor for my R56 Hatchback 8/08. I check more than a handful of website and they only carry 7/10 rear sensor!

Is there some mystery website I don't know about? I read that certain 08 model sensor run a little longer? If so is this article true? http://www.bluegrassminis.com/showth...ke-wear-sensor

The dealership claimed I need to change my rear brake in 1,118 miles. I'm over by 500 miles! I should be okay as i only drive about 20 miles and maximum 30.

Cross referencing what comes up between outmotoring.com and realoem.com, they both bring up the 330 part number for the rear sensor. So that is at least one source. You could just order from the dealer. They should be able to get you the right part based on your VIN.

fwiw, I have not heard anything like what is posted at the bluegrassminis web site. Given the lack of details, hard to say whether it is true or not.

Perhaps I'm reading the date wrong? I checked out both website you posted. The dates run 8/2010 and my is an 8/2008. Outmotoring didn't list my car as an option.

If the dates is 8/2010 meaning 2010 and after? Not before 2010...

I prefer not to buy from dealership due to higher cost. If it comes down to it I would have too.

Got my front sensor from Way Motor Works. The rear sensor is listed here:

http://www.waymotorworks.com/brake-p...5-r56-r57.html

After looking at Way's site, I don't think you're reading the date correctly. When they say it fits 7/10, they don't mean July 2010, they mean it fits the 2007 - 2010 Mini's. I would check with them to be certain, but take a second look at it!

On realoem, the 8/2010 date means it is applicable for vehicles up through that date. There is a different part number for vehicles manufactured after that date.

I don't think outmotoring goes so far down as to specify a month/year of production. The dropdown list just asks for 2nd gen front or 2nd gen rear. mossmini has both OEM and aftermarket listed on their site as well as breaking it down between the pre- and post- 8/2010 manufacture date.

Ohhhhh...that makes sense now. I guess it varies from site to site. This clears things up for me. Now I can make my purchase and have my rear brake done! I feel uneasy driving around though it's front wheel drive.

I'm a SHE lol but yes thank you. I'm learning something new everyday...It would be best for me to purchase OEM brake fluid as well? I'm planning on purchasing all the item and talking to an shop to get it done.
