Gong?

The manual I received with my 2010 has nothing at all in it about the audio system, which Ok I guess I can understand since often there are different audio choices available, but I dinna ken what these two settings mean. Can you help?

That settling determines how many times you hear this:

You can always add more cowbell....

gong = the volume of alert/alarm sounds

s-vol is how much the radio system volume increases with increased speed or ambient noise. not sure which, but i maxed it out on my car and it works great

There are so many things to learn, all these little quirks! Glad to know about the Gong thing!

Absolutely Totaly "INCORRECT" it has NOTHING to do with the NUMBER of times you hear it.

As BMWR606 stated Gong is a VOLUME control. Yet it does a horrible job on controlling the volume.

The S-Vol is as BMWR606 stated a volume control for the radio system. It is Speed controlled and will raise and lower the volume depending on the speed you are driving. The higher the speed the higher the volume. Set to 0 there is not volume increase and set to six is the max increase. This is a feature that people seem to either "hate" or "like". I my self really like it.

You do realize I was joking, right?

I literally said that settling determines how many times you hear Will Ferrel hit a cowbell.

Wow, can't believe you didn't get that since it was even in picture format. LOL

Not that you stink. I've never met you. I cannot say, one way or another... but take it as metaphorical.
