R60 Mud flaps question
Well I put mine on so it doesn't kick up all the junk on the side and back of the car. I went withoout for a while and then put them on so I could see the difference. I no longer get those mud lines on the side and the boot especially on the bumper seems cleaner for a longer period of time.
As for the flap with the aero kit, I am not completely sure but thought I saw somewhere that they will not fit. there are other alternatives but usually consist of a flat piece of plastic, but you can get them in colors. I know there is rally countryman on here and has them in red.

How difficult are these things to install yourself? The dealer wants $503 to put them on my car before I pick it up (parts + labor), and that seems ridiculous to me. Considering the parts are "only" $200 of that, I think it has to be a test of how big a sucker I am to ask for $300 to install 4 mud flaps...
The fronts were easy, just turn the wheels to give space to work and they went on easily. Pretty sure it was about 15 minutes for the first one as I was learning, and maybe half that for the second one. I haven't purchased the back ones yet, but will be doing so before winter. With the price quoted, how many hours are they allotting for the install?

I had the dealer install mine before delivery and then had them thrown in for free during the final negotiation since they weren't really budging on price. Remember you can always walk away and let them know that!
It should be roughly $200 parts and 1 hour install at about $80.
Good luck.

It's pretty easy. The only annoying part is getting the plastic rivets to go all the way in. Those things are terrible. I thought the rears were easier than the fronts, because they were all screws rather than plastic rivets IIRC.
Nope didn't miss a digit. For flaps and install MINI SF wanted $280. If they had wanted more then I would've looked elsewhere. But I'm not surprised if their labor rate is $180/hr.
Thankfully MINI of Marin opened last month so I'll go there for any service needs. As for oil changes (break in and every 5000 miles) I go to G&S Tuning here in Santa Rosa, $100 and includes a wash.

Had to drill a couple of holes in the front, but it was super easy. Didn't hit metal that I am aware of, but still loaded in the rust protect just in case. I bought the flaps at the MINI dealer in upstate NY. Way cheaper than getting them here in Canada. Plus I was driving by anyway so it wasn't out of my way.
Double it if you want the rears too.
When we were told the price for install on the mudflaps, we backed out. When we picked up the car, they were on the car and we weren't charged extra. Sewell was great at handling our purchase.
