Looking to get a set of new wheels for my 02 MCS!

Was hoping some people could provide me with some sort of muse for what I am going to be looking at as far as style, stance, fitment and so forth as well as what kind of drop I will need to get it all to mesh and flow properly!


Looking for MCS models on 15" wheels, preferably low offset and low profile tires.

Pure Silver is a plus

 

If you want to use stock tire diameter of 24.3" then using 15" wheels will require you to use high profile tires

Only by using larger diameter wheels like 17 or 18" can you use low profile tires.

For example-

15x7 with 195/60-15 but this would be good for street use rather than for looks

15x8 with 195/50-15 could work but be 22.7" tire diameter and combined with a suspension drop could be very easy to scrape on driveways and speed bumps.

I tried searching 15" wheels but it wont use "15" as a keyword :(

I mentioned low profile tires because I was using an assumption that the vehicles with 15s would be lowered vehicles.

 

Look in my Gallery - All I run is 15". You will find the Kosei K1, and the Enkei PF01 featured.

If you want extra wide then 15x7 to 15x8 is possible but as you get wider you have less clearance from rubbing the wheel arches on the inner sides.

So tire diameter needs to be a little reduced or camber needs to be much more negative.

 

I have been considering 6ULs for the Mini, as I had a set of them on my Miata back in the day. The Miata has MUCCCCH more rear tire room then the mini's do so I was quite worried about selecting correct offset and what spacer might be needed if any to clear the brakes on Minis. I think the 15x8 36+ should be fine and from what I read a 3mm spacer in the rear to be comfortable.

I was also looking into a set of Konig Wideopens for the Mini, had some of those on my Miata as well, just have to do some figuring on the offsets as usual.

 

Do a search for johnnyvillan on here. He is/was running XXR wheels 15x8 +15 with 195/50/15 tires.

I plan on running a similar setup. I think this is the fitment your looking for. I am not sure about his suspension. I imagine coilovers.
