Actually it was quite easy, once I figured out how to remove the original fasteners. It's plug and play! No cutting or drilling required. For the top portion, you use a flat head screw driver to wedge between the plastic washer and part that looks like a nut. Use a 10mm socket while you add downward pressure from the flat head to back out the "nut". On the lower grille, just use a plastic putty knife and start prying out the corners until it pops out. The inner part of the lower grill is held with double sided tape. I used a hair dryer to warm it up prior to pulling it off. Then I scrubbed off what I could with the putty knife and got the remainder with Goo Gone.
If your really good, this project might take 30 min. Mine took about an hour.

Here's my Plastidip version.

when i did mine (oem, not the aftermarket one to look like the new jcw grill as posted ) took me 10 minutes to install. Litterally take off the stock fasteners, pull the old one off, put new one on, replace fasteners and done.
On mine, the majority of the time for my install was removing the double sided tape from the factory.
I also removed the bumper because I had to replace the lower front lip. I included that in my install time.

Outmotoring JCW Grille Install
Hey guys
I snuck out at my lunch hour today and did this install. Nice piece -- fitment is just like OEM. As the OP says it doesnt take much time - I think I got it done in about 45 minutes.
A lot of people ask - do you have to remove the bumper to get the new lower piece on -- the answer is NO. You can use a non-marring pry tool -- lots of auto parts stores sell them and leveraging the fact that the new piece clips into the same exact places pry/push downward at the same time in those areas. The OEM one comes in two pieces -- the chrome piece and the color matched inner piece. The chrome part took no more than 5 minutes to get out moving slowly to make sure I didn't hurt anything. The color matched piece took a bit more finagling... you need to get the corner of it to come up then you literally can grab it and pull off if you don't care about messing it up or go slow again with the non marring tools.
Enjoy!

Anyone know where else to get one of these? Out motoring said 3 weeks back order at the moment. But of course they don't show it as out of stock.

I think the one that doesn't require customization is out motoring only. You can always buy the true JCW one and trim it down.
On eBay I see a lot of the jcw style..but I have no idea if it requires trimming or not. Might be worthwhile contacting one of the sellers
