8 days Old-Starting Problem...'12 Countryman
Hi Everyone, just thought I'd share my day and see if any new owners have had a similar problem. This morning I stalled my car trying to cross an fairly busy street in my neighborhood. It was my fault, I slipped off the clutch in first and it seems to require a more delicate foot action than I'm used to (My Jeep was very forgiving of my lead foot)-any way, I tried to restart the car before this large truck had to jack up, but the car wouldn't start, my passenger actually opened his door and backed me up out of the traffic until I could get the car started, it took 3 tries and removal of the fob 3 times before the engine kicked in. There was no starter sound, nothing. All the lights came on appropriately and yes I had my clutch depressed to the floor.
I drove a few errands and went home. An hour later went out to the bank, and parked, ran in, ran out and put the fob in, pressed the clutch to the floor, pressed start...Nothing, Pulled the key, pressed the start, nothing; third times the charm. I ran the "Check status" application of the car and everything was fine, I drove home and called my local dealer. It's there now. They haven't heard of any issue like this. So, if any of you were built around between 2/2 and 3/7...I'd like to hear of you're experiencing any issues similar.

yes, Unhappily, I brought the car back this afternoon. Hopefully this is something dumb, because I really have had a great week with him
No... I saw that thread too (temperature and overheating) , but the symptoms seem different.
Glad you took your snarky pill today. Feel better?

The first thing that comes to mind is the clutch starter interlock switch. This happened to me with another brand of car. The switch allows the starter to work when the clutch is pushed to the floor, but on this car the switch was poorly adjusted and occasionally pushing in the clutch did not get the switch to make contact.
Well here's the update and it seems like good news...
There's a flat interface cable between the start button and the controller and it wasn't seated correctly. The cable was not correctly installed, hopefully this is the end of the issue.

So Sorry. But the OP answered your questions in his original post. I just didn't see the point to your post.
"I drove home and called my local dealer. It's there now."
Your right I should have just ignored your post.

Sounds like the dealer honed in on it pretty quickly.

Electrical Problem
Hi folks.....just picked up our newly ordered 2012 Countryman All4 this past Friday and when my wife was following me back to the house, the radio volumn could not be adjusted at the wheel or manually by turning the **** and it would not change stations. Unexpectedly, it stopped working altogether.
Needless to say, we called our sales person immediately and was asked to return with the car Monday morning. The car had only 29 miles on it and we did not drive it at all over the weekend. When we attempted to start the car on Monday morning........the battery was completely dead and their was a ticking noise coming from the fuse box/relays under the hood. I actually removed the cover and placed my hands on the fuses and relays and could feel the relays pulsating for lack of a better word.
I eventually jump started the car and the radio came on momentarily and stopped working again. I drove the car directly back to the dealer where it is know being diagnosed to determine the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any information related to this problem with the 2012 Countryman?
Thanks for any insight you can provide........I'll report back as soon as the dealer can troubleshoot the problem.
