CMS All4 Manual MPG

Okay.... I don't want to beat a dead horse but this is for owners of All4 manual CMS.

I would like to hear back from all of you on the MPG you are averaging. I am averaging 26.5-27 mpg, mixed city and highway. Is anyone else out there getting the same or better than what I am experiencing?

I will be posting my fuel economy on Fuelly. Currently doing the break-in period, 86% highway, average is 28.1 mpg. Each tank recorded will have % highway. All figures from gallons and miles from tank, not vehicle computer.

http://www.fuelly.com/driver/dr61/countryman

There are 24 (8-2011, and 16-2012) CM's reporting on Fuelly, but not all specify if they are S, All4 or type of transmission.

Before getting the software upgrade, my mileage range was 25 (zipping around town) to 33 (Interstate). Since the upgrade I'm back up to 25-26 around town after a couple of weeks, but the highway mileage hasn't made it up to the same reading yet.

Consistently 26.5 to 27 MPG for last few thousand miles. 50-50 mix highway city. Love to drive QUICKLY..... (no software upgrade...)

Thread drift.... Should I get a software upgrade?? No issues with my car at all save an interior light staying on periodically.

If you have the manual transmission in your ALL4 you should ask to get the software upgrade discussed elsewhere, IMHO. For me the starting out was significantly improved, and stumbling on hard acceleration went away.

I've been getting about 30 on highway driving and with mixed driving around 25-26... That is with a tune and an exhaust (the exhaust should help with the mileage, not sure about the tune)

Any idea if Countryman's being produced currently will come with this "upgrade" already?

Mileage hasn't changed much after the update….starting up and the ride in general has improved immensely. Still averaging 22-23 around town….a bit dissapointing, 28-29 highway wise.
(All4 S manual - with Sport Button always engaged

Hmmm - I wonder if the Sport Button coupled with the fun pedal have anything to do with it...

What can I say…It's a habit…always engaging buttons in the cockpit and pedals have a completely different function @ 32,000'.

You're averaging the same as me and I too have not had the upgrade done. I was hoping my gas mileage would have improved but after 8500 miles, I don't think it will happen. I am sure it would if I was careful with the mph. But that's no fun at all. After all, isn't that the reason we all got a MINI in the first place?

Agreed
Seems like those who have had the update have improved somewhat…
Have plans of upgrading the exhaust…either the JCW that's out or a Milltek…probably won't do much for mileage….but it will roar a little better
