Koni Yellows and Hsport camber plates...

Looking at updating the struts while in putting on camber plates. I am looking at both the Koni yellows and the FDS's. Has anyone used the yellows with the H-sport camber plates. It looks like they will not be adjustable unless you tke the strut out of the car to access the top of the strut. I plan on mostly using the car as a DD so the FSD's are looking like the best choice but still have this question.

You won't be able to adjust the rebound settings on the Koni Sport struts with the supplied **** while the strut is installed on the car. You may be able to adjust them on the car with a small set of long nose pliers or have someone make a small metal **** with the appropriate slot.

Having run FSD's and Yellows, I prefer the Yellows over the FSD's. They provide a more stable amount of damping during cornering. While the FSD's were a little more comfortable, they lacked the firmness I like when cornering. Also, once the Yellows are adjusted (basically in the middle of the settings) they are set and forget. I have not changed them in the year and a half that they have been in the car.

It is a personal preference thing. My suggestion would be to find someone with each and beg them to let you drive their car so you can compare.

As far as the camber plates go, I have Ireland's steet/track version and once the spherical bearings were upgraded, they are great. The additional negative camber (-2 deg) provides awesome grip from the front.

Good luck,
Mike

For just a daily driver the FSD's are great and no adjustment needed.

The Yellows are more performance than the FSD's, but if you want camber plates the Vorshlags would be the way to go.

All thanks for feed back. I think FSD's will be the direction I go.

LOL, I have both. Yellows in the front and FSDs in the rear. I adjust the fronts to whatever my tastes are, and the rears adjust themselves lol.

SpiderKnight... do you track or autox?

I am very curious about that setup as normally i will leave a set rate front and adjust my rears based upon track conditions

Not as yet, but plan to.

I arrived where I am because I had purchased the FSD's from a NAMer. Unfortunately, one of the perches broke on the front right. Since I'm not the original owner, I ended up getting two yellows for the fronts and kept the back FSDs figuring if it got too weird I would replace them as well.

However, all is good so far.

From the little experience I have, mostly just spirited driving on twisties combined with DD, adjusting the fronts changes how my car rides drastically.

With full soft, it is close to what it was with all FSDs before the perch broke, but not as comfortable.

With about a quarter turn and get good stiffness. Seems like much more damped than full soft. Still pretty good for DD.

3/8 to me seems like the perfect combo for DD and a little twisty fun.

Originally, my mech had it half soft. Not sure how many turns that is or how far away I am now. It was a little too much for my tastes. I also went from the med stiff on my rear sway (19) to full stiff. Needed to reduce my understeer a bit.
