Have I lost power, or just gotten use to it?

Ok, lately, it seems like I've lost that boost hit. Before, I would accelerate and I could feel the boostt kick in, now it feels like the car's just accelerating, but the violence is gone Even after installing an NM torque arm bushing, NM Strut brace etc, the violence was still there. Now....it just feels normal. Could there be a problem??? I want my violence back

Do you have a way of reading boost pressure? Is the turbo still sustaining 14psi peak?

No, I have no way of determining boost pressure. It's an all stock 2010 Cpr S.

Go take a new MINI for a test drive and see for yourself. Should be a simple butt dyno test.

That's easier said than done Cereal. You see, I have the only Cooper S on the island, so a Cooper is not going to compare, and the majority are autos, so def not as much oomph. Maybe I'll pull out the G-Tech and see where I'm at.

Yikes, suppose I should have looked at your location! Guess the reasonable option would be to find a way to measure the boost. Of course if you think that you've lost boost then driving a Cooper for a bit and jumping in your S should provide a decent difference that the butt dyno should be able to notice. Maybe a difference experience for a bit could help, but that idea is just qualitative anyways. I'd probably see if you could look into the boost somehow?

I think when it goes in to have the water pump recall situation fixed, I'm going to get the technician to run a diagnostic or something. Could possibly be time to replace my oem air filter. I do have 21K+ miles on it over the last 2 years.

Does it sound any louder than usual? I blew the cold side boost tube (going into the throttle body) one day. It was really sluggish, and waayyy louder.

No, it doesn't sound louder, but it does feel a bit sluggish on the initial boost hit. Like there's a delay from the throttle pedal.

Well I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be my clutch slipping. Not saying this is your problem but you might want to look into it.

I take it you had a noticeable RPM jump under heavy acceleration to realise your clutch was slipping? I get that sometimes, but its accompanied by tire smoke lol

I just had the recall water pump done yesterday. It seems like my car has been de-tuned. It's now like the boost is not there. It's smooth through the gears just no kick in the pants. Anyone else had this issue?
