Anyway to access TPMS readings directly (NCS Expert perhaps?)
Just curious if there's a way to read the actual pressures being measured by the wheel sensors using NCS Expert or something along those lines. I know there are wireless scan tools designed for this purpose, but they are pricey. Just trying to troubleshoot a TPMS problem on a Gen2 MINI. Thanks.
Yep! DIS has each wheel's pressure, signal strength, and battery life listed!
Ah...I half expected I'd need DIS. Still haven't found time to get that up and running yet. You need to set up virtual machine on the laptop if I recall. I hadn't even thought about the TPMS sensor battery -- any idea if, when they die, they send a separate warning or what their lifespan is?
I'm due for service next month (last while under factory warranty), so I might just have the dealer fuss with it then, but it would be interesting to get the actual pressures.

Yep needs the VM, it is not the easiest to get running, but pretty easy to use once it is all setup.

Yeah I believe the dash warning will be TPMS malfunction instead of a LOW TIRE warning. But it doesn't specifically say low battery.
