Without fail, winter whee/tires installed = 55f weather

Just like last year, mounted my snow gear on my Mini and the weather is a balmy 55 degrees. Last year I was driving to Rhode Island with 50+ weather on my blizzaks basically leaving a trail of melted rubber behind. At least this year i am simply parked.

Bought 16" wheels from the MarketPlace from a guys R53 and mounted 195x65x16 Blizzaks

Bought 4 X-ice snow tires at the end of last winter. Because of the few 10" dumps we had. (Live on a street that is one of the last to get plowed.) Now this winter not a snow flake in sight. Oh well. At least I have some different wheels to look at for the season.

Just mounted mine on Tuesday. If this theory pans out, I'm going to get rain tires come summer.

Mine are ready to go, as soon as the snow flakes fall or the dire threat comes in, I'll put them on. I like my challenge wheels and I'm trying to keep them on as long as I can.

keeping the snow away

I put the snow blower on one tractor ,the snow blade on another ,new snows and wheels on the Mini , and that will guarantee there will be no snow in Iowa this year ! (good luck with that theory,I know)

Seems odd Texas has more snow than Chicago, though we did have a tiny bit last Saturday where I got to use the Michelens on a steep driveway.

You aren't going to hurt the snow tires at 55F. Just remember that they are snow tires and don't hoon around like they are gumballs. Now if it were in the 80's, and you drive like an idiot...

Its hilarious we had a couple of really cold days in Jersey, so of course I put the snow tires on. Ever since then its been warm out.

+1 Today is a high of 85F with it being mostly sunny. Now if it would cool off for Santa to come that would be fine too.

I used to mount snows on my BMW, but that was RWD. I think some good all seasons, FWD and traction control should keep me on the road. If the snow is more then 3-4" I'm not going anywhere anyways.

That is a valid point, but if you can see that ski rack on my Mini i have good reason for the snow tires. My wife and I ski up in vermont and if it is snowing you better believe we are hauling *** up to the mountain to get some fresh tracks in the morning :-D
