R60 Do your ears hurt?
Do your ears hurt?
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. While driving at speeds of say 30+mph...roll down the passenger side rear window (keep all other windows up). Jeez, the air pressure resonating in the cabin is enough to make your ear drums blow out. Really annoying. Ya think they would've done some wind tunnel testing.
I don't like getting my hair all messed up (Ha!)....and I would disagree that any 4 dr does this....my wifes 4 dr Subaru Tribeca doesn't whomp whomp whomp my ear drums. Come to think of it..neither did the 4 dr Chevy Malibu I rented for a drive to Florida. Hmm.
I have noticed that in a lot of cars. Some worse than others. Like other posters said just crack another window. Not a big deal in my book.

I say shave your head and put all 4 windows down.
j/k I've had this problem in several cars, haven't owned a 4-door in a while but hate that buffeting sound. Guess I'll try it when my CMS comes in. My MCS does it if I open the roof before opening a window.

All the 4 door cars and truck that i have had and friend’s cars that are 4 doors did the same. The air pressure needs to be equalized. So shave your head or crack the other window so your hair doesn't get messed up.
This isn't a problem, it's just physics. When you crack one window open, air tries to rush into the cabin, the pressure builds up, and then pushes the air back out, and then it all starts over... which is why it resonates and makes your ears feel like they are gonna blow. The pressure in the cabin is going up and down and up and down, over and over. It's actually a good thing, it means the cabin in our CM's are nice and air tight. Just crack the other back window so the air rushing in one window can be pushed out of another. It shouldn't create much more airflow, and your hair will remain intact.
