R60 Just ordered our first MINI!
Just ordered our first MINI!
Just wanted to check in here since we just ordered a 2012 CMS All 4! We are really excited! We've wanted a MINI for a long time!
-Light White/ Black Roof
-Heated Seats/Heated Mirrors/ Washer Nozzles
-Bench Seat/Flat Load Floor
-Piano Black Trim
-Auto Dimming Mirror/Homelink
-Sunroof
-Tech Package (Mini Connected w/o Nav)
-Sport Package (Black Bonnet Stripes and 18" Dual 5-Spoke Black)
A little history on how we decided on the MINI. We were looking at the Clubman S about a year and a half ago but decided against it because we were planning to have children shortly (Wife is 4 months pregnant!). We wound up ordering a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT. Great car, fast, but very plain in the styling department. I thought the power/awd combo would make the car a blast to drive but its just not that fun. If you haven't noticed they have really increased the size of the new Legacy and it feels like a boat to drive. Take into consideration I drive a Golf TDI so the Legacy is a much larger car then what I'm used to. VW did an outstanding job with the layout of the steering wheel radio/computer controls as well as the touch screen radio in the TDI IMO. The Subaru's is painful to use in comparison. My wife loves driving my car because it feels like a go-kart.
Unfortunately we didn't get to see a Countryman before making our decision on the Legacy. My wife drives past the MINI dealer EVERYDAY on her way to work and she told me she really wanted to drive the Countryman....that was all it took. The dealership was very accommodating by letting us bring some baby stuff in to make sure everything would fit. As big as the Legacy is the infant car seat fit better in the CM due to the adjustability of the rear seats. The stroller was also easier to get in and out of the CM's hatch (boot).

Thanks everyone!
Right now the order is for the 18's with RF's. I've been reading up on the harsh ride and have been debating on what to do. I really like the 18" 5-spokes so we'll probably just look for replacement tires. We already have 18" snow tires so we'll likely just find replacement summer tires.

Congrats on your order! You will find that the Countryman will accomodate almost all of your baby things just fine. We have 5 month old twins and have had the Countryman since before they were born. Both car seats fit great and we love the car. The car seats actually seem to have more room in the Countryman than in our MDX. You will love it.
Just an FYI on the tires. We ordered the 18" rims and I had the dealer replace the run flats with non-run flats before we even picked it up. Makes a big difference in the ride quality if you can afford it.
