R56 "noisy tires"
I just purchased. Set of Michlen pilot AS's and are really quiet. Worth the price drives great smoother than run flats lots of grip. I also have a set of General Exclame's on my BMW and are really quiet and nice ride not as much grip as mini but I wanted smooth and quiet. The General's are a great bargain made buy Conti. to.
Hope this helps.

DO NOT GET S DRIVES!! They are seriously absolutely terrible. You will love them for about 5000 miles then the rubber gets hard and they handle like crap and after all that they start getting really loud. I'm dealing with these problems now...just don't get them.
I wll agree with this fully. Had them on my car last summer and yes they get very noisey after a few thousand miles.
I've got ~20k on my original 17" runflats that I'm about to swap out for a set of Michelin Super Sports I ordered from Tire Rack. I'll probably do it next week since I have the entire week off. I'll report back as soon as they're broken in and I've had a chance to run the Ortega Hwy. at max speed. That will give me an excellent idea of how good they handle.
Anybody have a suggestion for a good spare to be had for a 17" non-runflat setup on an MCS?

Also Michelin PE2s are quiet and grippy, but seem to be on the way out and not come in the right size anymore.
I bought a used set of 17" with Potenza Grid G019, I cannot reccomend them either. These have about 6k miles on them (supposedly, lots of tread left), but are quite loud. They feel pretty soft as well, not really sharp transient response. Then again they are just all seasons, not high performance...
