Angry Got Hit in Rear Bumper!

So I got hit by what looks like a trailer hitch going at a slow speed in a parking lot. The person didn't leave a note (of course). My baby is only 1 month old. My rear bumper was pushed in a bit and the paint crumpled some. My guess is that I will need to replace the bumper. Does anyone have any idea on the pricing for this?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your Mini.

I just had the rear bumper cover replaced and repainted on our 4-Runner, also one metal part had to be replaced under the bumper (all from where I was rear ended with minimal damage). The total was about $1350.00, the other persons insurance paid for it and the work was done at a dealership. It took about a week to get done and it looks as good as new.

I have no idea how much it would be on the mini tho.

Very sorry to hear - you have my sympathy!

No idea of costs - just feel your pain is all.

Your insurance should cover it as a hit and run. Some companies even have a lower deductible for hit and runs.

What's your deductible? Let insurance take care of it. And call to check whether or not you have a one-time deductible waiver they can give you or if there's a lowered deductible for uninsured motorist (which is basically what this is).

i just had a similar experience with a hit and run except i needed a new driver door! insurance covered it as an uninsured motorist, and assured me it wouldnt affect my rates. happy to report the repair looks flawless, the cub looks brand new! the biggest surprise in the process was the invoice.. a new door shell came in just under $500, but the plastic trim on the mirror was almost $200! total with labor around $1600, which seems reasonable considering what the door looked like!

Where were you, most stores have cameras set on their parking lots. Also, if it was a cart the store is liable for the repair...

Holy cr@p! I had the same thing done on my 2008 4Runner this summer and it was $650. Bumper, bracket and paint. Geico certified body shop - not a dealer.

I thought it was high too but the Progressive adjuster's office was actually located inside the dealerships body shop and I wasn't paying for it so I didn't care. I could have gotten a check and then had it done somewhere else but they gave me a loaner car and did a good job so I was happy in the end.
