Motor-Tober: Anyone have the discount rules?

When MINI Rocks the Rivals was happening, someone posted the official rules on NAM, which helped us figure out how to take advantage of the discount offer. In my case, I had my CM4 on order and technically did not qualify to get the $1000 discount. I sat down with my MA and asked whether I could get the discount if I got a certificate before delivery. That dealership talked with MINI USA and got written confirmation that they would support the discount if I got the certificate. I went to a distant MINI dealer that was hosting the event, got the certificate, and got the discount taken off my purchase.

I haven't been able to find the discount rules for Motor-Tober yet, but I know someone who has an R56 on order and will be getting a certificate before their delivery. Does anyone have a copy of the rules they can post as a starting point for them?

In the hopes of getting an additional discount on my newly ordered Cooper, I asked my MA and her response was.... "Motor-tober discount is centered around a specific date and event: the Coupe Test Drive Event. Ours is on the 29th of October. Anyone who comes to the event and afterwards buys/orders a car will get the $750 discount as long as their MINI arrives before January 3, 2012. It excludes MINIs that have already been ordered, though... Not our rules, they are MINI's rules and the discount comes in the form of a coupon sent out to emails from the event from MINI."

Hope that that helps.

I'm interested to know if the $750 is a manufacturers discount.
I mentioned it this weekend and I got no love. I've already negotiated though.

You can put a deposit on a car and that wont count as an order, for example my MA found the car i wanted in WI just before it go on the truck and intercepted. So its not ordered for me, but i already have a deposit down on it. so the 750 will apply

You can get the discount if you already have a deposit on a car they have coming in. I have a car in transit that i have reserved and the $750 will apply. The discount is from the manufacture and will apply on top of any negotiations you have already made

what area are you in?
I am willing to bet $2500 off in the SF bay area is not going to happen, esp. if you are ordering. Too many people with too much $ here.

My new mini is on order, and my MA told me to go ahead and attend the Motor-tober event and register. He said that as long as they don't cross-reference my name then I have a good chance of getting the certificate and will get the $750 incentive.

Anyone know how long it takes to get the certificate? I attended on Saturday 10/22 and my car is due in about 2 weeks. Thanks!!

Rules?

HERE they are from another poster. Copied from the wording on the certificate. Note that is says NOTHING about restrictions except that you MUST take delivery by January 3rd.

You must register at the dealer though.
