MOTOR Happenings

Hello to all you MINI fans in the SW Missouri area and especially around Springfield. MOTOR has been very quiet lately but I am going to attempt a resurrection in March 2012.
There are many more MINI's in the area now compared to 3 years ago.
If you would like to be part of the MINI experience in SW Missouri please send an e-mail to ozarkroots@suddenlink.net.
If you want to talk and ask questions you cal call Del at 417-581-7034 after 6 PM CT.

I'm in Springfield also. Don't really see many Mini's around...mostly all big diesel trucks and soccer mom mobiles

If you see a mini running around that looks like this one...it's me.

Is M.O.T.O.R. Planning anything for March or early April? Now would be a good time to let folks know.

Joplin-here, very interested. I feel like I am all on my own despite seeing other Mini's about town. Lets put something together.

Hey we used to live in Joplin until about 2 years ago when we moved to Branson. Why don't you email Del Lamb T ozarkroots@suddenlink.net and see if M.O.T.O.R. Might start up in the spring.

My MINI Cooper is garaged in Springfield, Missouri. I would be interested in exchanging MINI-related advice and information with other MINI owners in SW Missouri and or NW Arkansas. (Route information, service advice, etc.)

Right now I would like to know if anyone has any recommendations about somplace to check my alignment (getting new tires tomorrow).

Thanks,
-gw

The best place in town for allignment and tire balance work it Mitchem Tire & Wheel. They have top of the line equipment , and have always done a great job for me. Stay away from any of the Sam's Clubs in town....trust me!!

IQRaceworks, thanks for the feedback. I have bought tires from Mitchem (on the north side) for other vehicles, and found them to be good for tire sales, but for some reason it did not occur to me that they do alignments, also. I got my most recent tires from Bud's Tire and Wheel - great guy, but he has a small shop, and I'm pretty sure no capability for alignment work.

I had trouble finding a shop that had the correct alignment specs. I got a dealer to fax me the specs. Let me know if you need them.

Sc00terbum, thanks for that offer.

To all:
The tire guy at Bud's Tire (Mike) recommended K Street Alignment on Kearney Street - anybody ever use them?

Actually, after talking to Mike, I'm not sure the worn edges on my old tires really indicate an alignment problem - could be due to immoderate cornering speed and lack of rotation? But after parting with almost $700 for new tires, I guess I should get it checked, anyway ... ?
