British Invasion Car Show

Is anyone else here going to the British Invasion Car Show in Stowe, VT? My wife and I are showing the MINI this year and wondered if there was anyone from NAM that might be going to look or show.

http://www.britishinvasion.com/ is the link if anyone is interested in checking it out. Sorry I didn't post sooner, I have been working 2 jobs lately and this was the first chance to get online in a while.

Conflicting Interests....

Too bad you posted so late, as I've already booked a hotel for the British Car Show near Toronto.
I would have preferred a trip to Green Mountain Country.
Well, there's always next year!!

Cheers, Ed

I will be making the trip from Maine with four or five other cars.....however I will be driving my 1971 Triumph TR6. I am currently MINI-less for the time being for another week plus or so. I have been for the last 8 years straight. When I start the body off restoration of the TR6 I will drive the new MINI to the show then. Look me up and say "Hi". I always cruise down the MINI and Mini line so if you are there I will certainly see you.

Yeah, sorry about the late posting, between job hunting and finding 2 jobs, and training for them and working 55+ hours a week, I don't have much free time to be on the computer lol. As for seeing me in the MINI line, you'll see me. I'm hoping that I'll be the only black one there but who knows. I'll be hanging out with my brother and his wife with their Land Rover D90 on and off as well.
As for next year, we will be there! The wife and I will be making this an annual trip. I'll be sure to post up sooner than I did this year tho.

I will have to do a write up this weekend, but the show was awesome! There weren't too many new MINI's there but plenty of classics Mini's and all kinds of varients. FYI for next year, MINI/Mini is one of the featured marques! So we will have to get a bunch of us NAMers to make sure they have plenty of MINI/minis to show off and make the show a success again, for the 22nd time lol.

Mini-b10, the wife is originally from Erie, I am a transplant here. Moved here in '92 and 8 years later got married. So we stayed. If you head back the way of Dreary Erie, look me up.

Matt.

Had a great time at the Invasion. Saw plenty of MINIs and Minis driving about Stowe. Weather could not have been more perfect.

Thanks Matt...I might be back up next summer. Haven't been back in few years but if I get up there, I will look you up.

So next year at Stowe...Minis are the one of the marques? Awesome, I think the wife and I will make the trip back. We actually got married in 2009 in Stowe, so we will make it our anniversary trip!!

I happen to work in Stowe - and also have a Pepper White. Will be good to see another PW in Stowe.

btw: Th Invasion was a great success. Terrific bunch of people and cars - and quite a few classic Minis - plus I saw quite a few MINIs on the road (and even a 2010 MINI entry!)

Hey All,

I was at the show this past weekend, driving my '72 Triumph Stag. I just purchased an '06 MCS last Thursday! (First time owner, and I only have one major complaint.... my commute to work is too short!) I have been attending off and on for many years. I spent some time in the MINI lineup chatting with one fellow about mods available and generally admiring the cars. I really love driving mine!
I also went to the Bronte Show outside Toronto last year and had a great time, drove the Stag there and back. I will return to CA again one day, but for the next few years, Stowe is where it's at!

Hey Matt, I had a great time at the show. better then I expected.
I've got to say I really love the New England states especially Vt. My first time in Stowe.
My friend also enjoyed Vt. (her first time) as well as talking with you and your wife..

The ferry ride to NY was great even the weather behaved....
I will try hard for next year to attend..it's on my list..

Dave...

The roads were full of wildlife that slowed me down a bit.. I didn't think I would see them out in the day time.. a wolf and lots of deer...

Six if I could find a job up there in or around Stowe, you wouldn't be the only PW in Stowe and would have the wifes black Mini as well.

If I could find a job there, you'd have a Midnight Black MINI to motor around with too.

Dave, it was great to meet you and as I said on Saturday, Congrats on winning 1st place in the MINI 2001-Present category!

It was a great show, there was a mild showing of MINIs but I am so glad that my wife and I went, we met some great people (Dave, and angrydad, and I know there were others but probably forgot names!) and had a blast!!! The Triumphs were plentiful since they were one of the featured marques, and there were a ton of awesome cars there. I plan on talking to the PittStop MINI club and seeing if we can get a group there next year. We will be reserving our room at the B&B in the next few weeks, and looking for the registration online at the British invasion website.

I strongly suggest, if you are a fan of MINIs and/or British cars in general, plan on going next year. The organizers put on one hell of a show. We are probably going to do the blindfolded backseat drivers competition and maybe even the tailgate comp. Once I get through the photos, I'll post some up. Dave, I have a few nice pics of your MINI I'll be sure to post.

Cheers,
Matt

The same folks organized a new show at Tanglewood in Western MA this past June. I was unable to go but from all my friends who went they said it was very much like the Stowe show, Friday night downtown with live music, Saturday/Sunday show the same. The town of Lenox, MA loved the car owners and apparently are looking forward to hosting the show every year!
