I found this article on Gizmodo this morning very interesting, Why is Carbon Fiber So Expensive. I guess this explains why the M7 Vortex scoop I ordered costs so much and takes so long to get!

 

the unfortunate part about that is because we dwindle so much of it on car trim the availability goes down and price stays up. realistically we'd need "cancer cure" sized fundraising and a push to get it closer to being used freely in oem automotive uses.
