JCW Ordering new 2012 JCW Hardtop...Retail?
Ordering new 2012 JCW Hardtop...Retail?
What to expect on pricing? I have built the car with roughly $6k in option and ready to place the order with local dealer.
For people that have ordered recently.
Are you paying retail?...close to retail?....under retail? I'm not looking for what you specifically paid for the car, but more if you paid x% below retail. I don't know how hard I should fight to get a "good" deal with local dealer or go elsewhere. It looks like it will be at least 30-45 days before I would get an allocation from what the dealer told me because of parts delayed from Japan. So it doesn't matter if I have to go elsewhere for a more competitive price.
I will be paying out right for the car (no financing from dealer)' if that matters.
Thank you

LOL, you don't have to pay sticker if you order one.
Shop around.
I would have thought so too, I can't see paying retail even if I was going to order. I was hoping a few thousand off retail, especially with a bunch of options thrown on top of the base price. I should know in the next week, I am working with several dealership in different states.
I wouldn't expect to get a few thousand off an ordered JCW but I think you have some wiggle room if you shop around. Maybe $1000 to $1500 off retail. I wouldn't pay over retail, but that is where many dealerships will quote you to start with. Good Luck, I hope it works out well. What options are you looking to add? I was building a JCW too and tried to keep it pretty basic, but I love that they added the aero kit now standard and the sound is unbelievable.

Thanks Crayonman,
I am adding black color line, xenon, black housing, rear fog, premium & tech package., maybe go with the hood/roof stripe as well. I have everything submitted, just have to have the pricing conversation....at least they are starting at retail, and from the sound of things they will move off of that but we will see. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks

Where are you located? My wife is an MA here in Atlanta at Minis of South Atlanta and I could give you her number to see what number she comes up with? Just a thought, no pressure. Sometimes they can do better and sometimes they can't.

I am in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm talking with a few dealers here and CA. Thank you for the offer, I may take you up on it. I'm going to see what the bottom line will be with the dealers I'm talking too. I should have final offers by the end of this week at the latest. Thanks again.
You can find invoice/MSRP on Edmunds. MINI's invoice price is almostly exactly 10% under MSRP and there is no holdback for MINI/BMW. Your "thousands off" is probably wishful thinking, but some discount should be doable.
Ok, so I answered my own question. So here is the deal I was able to get.
Eclipse Grey/Chili Red Roof and Mirrors
Black Color Line
White Turn Signals
Black Light Housing
Premium Package
Technology Package +NAV
Rear Fog Light
Adaptive Headlamps
Xenon Headlight
Garage Door Opener
Rubber Front Floor mats
Black Sport Stripes, Hood-Bonnet-Roof (installed)
(I only listed cost options)
I went through multiple dealers, and most were very quick conversations. The bottom line is I walked away with just north of $1k off MSRP. After it's all said and done, I'm happy with the deal and really not a lot of BS from the dealers which was nice since I was expecting it.
