IPAD Mounting in Gen 2 Coopers - (I know Again)

I really want to mount an IPAD in my R55 Clubman. I have looked at all the options and none of them seem to work very well.

1. Suction Mount - Covers Speedo and is a suction cup.... practical but very ugly. Plus on hot days that puppies is going to loose suction.
2. Kudamount/Proclip. May be a good solution but it appears that NO ONE has implemented it with a IPAD... lots of Iphones... but no IPADS. If you go to Proclip that just show that damn picture of the mount really close to the center console. I dont think it will work... just my guess.
4. Arkon Arm/RAM Arm. This is the gooseneck arm. Looked like my best option as it mount to the seat bolts. But I have seen so many videos on this mount on so many cars and the things just vibrates that a bobblehead. Some have put a 2nd anchor point in place... but on the mini there really is no good point.
5. Cup holder mounts. - I loose a cup holder and its hideous looking.

Anyone have a custom or better solution to this. I really want to do this. I want to use motionX GPS and Pandora.

RAM makes quite a few mounts. I would use a RAM cradle with a ram ball mount attached to the Proclip mount by the glove box.

Thanks... that is actually a great idea. I will research this idea more. Ram Mount has the baest device mounts and the proclip thing should work with the extended 6in arm.

I will post pictures once I get all the parts together.

The Proclip mount next to the glove box button is very sturdy so I think that should give a good base for something as large as an iPad.

by chance do you know how big the mount surface area is on the proclip. The ram connection mount is a circle about 2.5in big. I need the proclip to be at least that big.

It's 2" wide by 2.75" tall.

You don't have to use the 2.5" diameter ball mount.

I would use this kit to get the cradle, Kit Part number RAM-B-138-AP8U
http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...5/Default.aspx

And buy the smaller ball mount to attached to the Proclip. Part Number RAM-B-238U
http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...5/Default.aspx

I looked on the RAM site and didn't see where the iPad cradle is available without a "kit" and that kit above looks to be the lease expensive if you don't use a skin/case on the iPad.

Edit: Just noticed if you click the components tab you can buy the cradle separately. But you'd still need a ball mount for the back of the cradle and an arm to connect the ball mount on the Proclip with the cradle's ball mount. Not sure if piecing those separately would be less than that kit above.

PErfect. Though I would need to use the diamond connector.

That's benefit of RAM products. As long as you pay attention to what size ball a particular part is using, you can mix and match various mounts and adapters.

I have a ProClip mounted iPad in my R56. I just actually posted up my ProClip iPad1 mount (here) as I upgraded to the iPad 2. It does block the center console somewhat, but it's not the end of the world - think positioning like police cars do it. I can post a pic if needed. Really not that bad for what you get

Don't go with suction mounts - the last thing you need is to hit a pothole and lose your iPad. I'm not sure about Kuda / RAM, but ProClip is solid as hell.
