Tow Hitch for a Bike Rack

New here. Hello.

I've searched the forums and the internet and have had no luck.

My question: Is it possible to add a tow hitch to a 2011 R56 without putting a hole in the bumper? I only want to add a hitch mounted bike rack...nothing else.

Thanks!

...behind the license plate. When you're not using the hitch, who would know?

Opps... Thinking about a Clubman...

I have been waiting for a tow hitch solution for my 11 MCS and no luck yet. Apparently the 11 is different enough from the 07-10 model years to make those not work. I need to tow trailers with smallish sailboats. I think I have given up on the idea for now though as I have the wife talked into letting me get a truck to handle towing and hauling duties for the family. Mini-Fini and MINI Do More are going to be your best options. The Mini-Fini version may alreay work on an 11, but it is an expensive proposition. The MINI Do More is still in development, or so I understand. My son has an 09 Clubman with the MINI Do More and a bike rack - works pretty well. What about a roof rack system?

I doubt it there is any real structural difference from 2010 to 2011. The cars changed very little externally, so I don't think there would be a great internal rework before Gen 3 if they did not need to. However, I think that the aftermarket companies doing MINI parts are not very big. Perhaps part of the delay in bringing out new products has to do with with getting test vehicles. I have seen items on some company web sites asking for owners to loan them a car for test purposes, so that could be a hold-up...

Just got an email from Brent at Mini Do More as I was inquiring about a trailer hitch for my 2011 Cooper S and he said it should be up on the site sometime this week.

Thanks for replies. I'll check those out.

BTW, this is a great site. I've learned so much about my Mini.
