Do any of you motorers out there have pictures of the alloy patina interior. I will hopefully be ordering my LY/W this week (fingers crossed) and has specified anthricate. But yesterday, I visited another Mini dealer. They didn't have any on the lot, but I saw the alloy patina tile which looks interesting, but I am not to sure how it would look throughout the car. Also, how does it hold up over time? Any comments/complaints about the alloy patina?

Thanks NAM'ers.

I don't have any pictures for you. But I do have the patina on my LY/W s, and have no complants about it. I have had it for over a year (almost 30000 mile now) and it is holding up just fine. Some have comented that the "swirls" make it look dirty, but I have never thought so. What ever you go with you'll be happy.

I have the alloy patina and love it. 34k miles and no problems. Looks best with Lapis Blue leather. Black leather works best with Antracite, IMO.

Alloy Patina looks nice, but I would get Anthracite if I did it all over again.

Thanks for the photo. Why would you get the anthracite if you did it over again? Are you having wear problems? I was conscerned about the swirls on the patina. It wasn't real noticable in your pic. I like the contrast between the black of the dash and the patina or silver, but have heard and seen wear problems with the silver.

Welcome to NAM. There are a number a threads that talk about the alloy patina not holding up well. I got the anthracite and am happy with it. The dealer indicates that now he is ordering all cars with anthracite unless they are spec'ed differently.

Thanks. I've searched the site and have read the comments on the patina. That is why I was leaning toward the anthracite. I really like the constrast between the black and silver and knowing the wear history of this finish, I was curious about the patina. If there are any other pics of this interior, please post them.

Andy had mentioned that he would not get this finish again. I was curious what his concerns were.

It's a shame the silver wears so bad, the look is great when it is new.

Here is my alloy patina dash with Lapis Blue leather seats

The dash finish is doing OK but the silver downtubes do scratch.
The anthracite is much darker just a bit lighter than a metallic silver black and the most durable.
My alloy patina has been durable for me.

I like the anthracite look but it is quite dark.

I just like the look of the anthracite better. My alloy patina has been holding up just fine.

Personal Preference Warning: I LOVE my Alloy Patina! It gives the MINI a gritty, industrial aura that really meshes well with the rest of the interior bits, especially the Space cloth. Not as metal-flake and dark as the Anthracite, and not as bright as the Silver; the Alloy Patina is neither faux-Audi TT, nor Bentley machine-turned. The Alloy is a less refined, sometimes chaotic swath of scuffs and oxidation - rough just like the MCS's ride, and definitely not for the faint of heart. If I had to do it for a 3rd time, I'd still get the Alloy Patina

I like my allow patina, and have gotten many favourably comments on it from non-MINI heads.

I love the contrast between the alloy patina and all the black in the interior that you don't get with anthracite. And it holds up way better than the plain silver. The brushed alluminum look is pretty cool. It's industrial looking. Fits the car well IMHO.

The alloy patina looks so much better than a picture
can show. At 36k mine looks great. The ONLY wear
I have is the the grab handles on the doors. They
are not Alloy patina, they are pure silver.

Alloy patina does give the interior a bit of edgy-ness.
And a car that is often refered to as "cute" needs a
detail like this. (My 2c)

God speed.

I have heard rumors that the alloy patina may be discontinued in the future. It is also an "S" only option. Because of this, the alloy patina might be more attractive to picky collectors in the future.

I certainly like mine and have had no problems with the finish at all.

Thanks everyone for the pictures. Yucca, your post ruined my day. I was all set too change my order and then you tell me that it is an "S" only option. Damn, I am getting the regular coop because I want the CVT. The alloy patina looks great though. The anthracite isn't too shabby I guess.
