Convertible antenna locations

Does anyone have a "for sure" location of the GPS and Sirius antennae? Typically GPS antenna are located in the dash, right in front of the window, front and center. In the convertible that seems especially true. I need to put an extra GPS antenna somewhere in the car (for the radar detector) and don't want to cover up the existing ones if I surface mount it on dash.

Thanks!

On all R55, and R56 they are located in the Antenna Pod on the roof.

But it does seem that on the R57 there is not enough room in the antenna pod on the top of the windshield for the GPS antenna so it has been moved to the dash and it looks like somewhere directly in front of the driver on left hand drive cars.

The SAT antenna is still listed as being in the Antenna Pod at the top of the windshield.

I had a Sirius aftermarket radio installed in my 2010 convert. The antenna that comes with the car was used for the the satelllite radio so no need for the extra Serius antenna. The antenna was accessed from under the front passenger seat. The install done by the car stereo installer was very neat and clean and is mounted with a Pro Clip mount to the left of the glove compartment. No unsightly wires. It runs thru the AUX control so I can change volume thru controls on steering wheel. I am very pleased with the set up

Thanks tons Schatzy. Do you have diag or link to diagram that shows it in glorious imagery?

And Jeff - I'm asking because I don't want to block the existing antenna. I'm installing a remote radar detector with GPS capability for speed traps and red light cameras which as it's own antenna. Wish I could put that darned thing somewhere out of sight, but not sure if I can get to the underside of the dash without major disassembly. It's bad enough that putting the radar unit in front took me five hours and lots of frustration. There's just no room for these things up there.

And I'd rather have gone the V1 route, but being a soft top convertible I didn't want some jackass cutting the top to grab it if I forgot to take it down.

All I have to go by is the parts diagram and the WDS both of which don't show a "Real" location. but both do show it on the drivers side of the car.

I would think if you were to put your antenna near (inch or so away form) the A-pillar on the passenger side you would be good to go.
