Do you think of your MINI as a him, her, or ...?
Hi, All,
A post over on the Detailing 101 Forum by JohnW94 (of the Hyper Blue family) got me thinking about this. He refers to his car as a him, "Gizmo."
I don't know if I think of my car as either one. Unisex?
Hmmm. I have referred to it as "my baby car" and I guess, if I had to choose, it would be a him.
Do you see your MINIs in terms of gender, or as something else entirely?
Have fun!

Definitely female...redheaded and feisty as hell. No name, I just call her the readhead. She started showing attitude before she even got to the US coast...disappearing all the time and never knowing where she was til she actually showed up.
I didn't really intend for this to get all sexual, but hey. lol

I guess I have always named my cars... I can't explain how I figure out what sex they are, I just know when I see them! My last mini was a boy (Winston), but when I first saw my Clubman in the dealer lot, I instantly thought "girl". Therefore she was named Chloe.
It all depends on the car, since the more enthusiastic MINIacs are almost in love with our cars, we get more attached to them and then name them.
Depending on the way it drives and especially the aesthetics over it, that could determine the gender and/or name.
You will know if your MINI does not agree with the gender and name you have established.

I really love the MINI community and this forum but the thing I despise the most is naming a MINI. My JCW is much more than transportation to me but IT has no name and no gender. It is simply my car.
So we started referring to my car as Ginger, it is a spice after all.......
I've given male and female name to my cars. One was Bessie (WRX) and another named Pepe (1979 Rabbit). I went for a British name for my MINI and named him Dr. Watson, as in Sherlock Holmes.
I give all my cars names.
Let's see, there was Squeek, Smokey, Frog, Readdy, Bullitt, Peppy, Sophie (my RV), Phoebe (my Prius) and now my first MINI, soon to be delivered, will be Maxx, all guy for sure. My personal plates say MINIMAXX.

Neither: Absolutely a gender-neutral machine, but that's not to say that a lack of gender means no personality. I will say one thing, though: at 850 miles on the odometer, it's definitely a teenager. It's always hot to trot, wants to go fast, and it's voice (exhaust tones) is starting to change.
