Add me to the List of my Wife called me with and oil Leak

I have a 2010 Mini and it is now in the shop with the Wonderful Timing chain issue. When i got there to pick her up it looked like the bottom of the car and the wheels had an oil bath also the ground was covered in oil.

It has been at the shop for almost a week now there was metal flakes in the oil pan so the are pulling things apart they are checking the rod bearings and everything i guess. I am just worried that they are going to do just enough so they wont have to replace the engine.

Wow! So sorry to hear that. Makes me awful nervous as I've already logged 21k on my 2010...

OK so i finally got an update from the dealer. 2 of the rod's are slightly bent they said there is nothing else wrong with the engine i am not thrilled at all that i have had to have a car with 15k miles on it have the engine torn apart. I asked MINI to replace the engine they will not do it all they want to do is replace the rods's and call it good.

least its only at 15K and you have a lot more time in case the rods alone dont quite get it.

should be fine though

Are they replacing your engine with another rebuilt one? Also get them to extend your warranty.
