New Countryman S Owner

Ended up going to the Mini dealership with the family to check the CMS and ended up walking out with a new CMS Black/Black/Black!

It was raining here in so cal and no one was at the dealership. He said he'd give me a good deal and I told him it would be my family's 4th mini from them...

He gave me a great price on my X5 4.8i trade (I know what shift from that car to this car)...and he gave me $1250 off MSRP (Not the best as I usually will only pay $500 over invoice, but I knew there was no way they'd do it for this car right now).

Gonna take to OctaneGuy hopefully this week for him to detail. Told the dealership to not wash my car. So they took off the stickers and cleaned the windows ONLY.

Pics from either me or Rich will be up this week!

Not too much of a stretch, I'm going from a X5 4.4 to a CM. Congrats!

$1250 off sounds great. So what is your actual purchase price with all the bells and whistles, destination, DMV, etc ? The $1250 off he could be making on the other end (trade-in). Just sayin

Congrats. I had one Mini dealer offer me $1000 off MSRP buy he clobbered us with the trade in quote.

My local dealer was more realistic and actually gave us a much better number that was more in line with KBB on the trade. So we didn't haggle paying the MSRP.

You did a little better than I'm doing right now. I'm at $1,250 off an MSRP of $33,626 so your % discount is slightly better...but we're in the same ballpark. I'm hoping to squeeze a few more dollars out before I sign but we'll see.

As well, my trade-in is pretty close to what I'd expect to get at private sale so I think I'm doing about as well as I can hope. Particularly since the deal is already more than $1k better than any of the other dealers in my area are willing to do.

Pic after Octaneguy gave it a wash and polish...didn't want the dealer to wash it. Also put my first mod on it...the OEM stubby antenna!

Is there something about the way the dealer washes their cars that didn't want you to do it or simply because you were taking it to your guy to detail?

Dealer is careless...would basically put a bunch of swirls in the black paint.

So would you advise others to tell their dealer not to bother washing and waxing it?

I think that is upto you and your preferences. I purchased this car and plan on keeping it for awhile. I want the paint to be in tip top condition as long as possible. I also have the equipment to take care of it. I took it to OctaneGuy cuz he wanted to detail a countryman in addition to giving me a smoking deal on a detail.
