So JBKone and I were talking, and realized we both thought of sanding the chrome bits to have a brushed aluminum look. I searched here and didnt find anyone who has done it. I did however, find some info where motorcycle guys did this and it looks NICE! I realize to do it all would be tough, especially the beltline and emblems but I'm REALLY thinking of doing it.. I just need a chrome piece to practice on.

HA! And 1.5 years later... it's still in Detailing.

I was just searching NAM on this very subject. Can't believe nobody's done it.

 

I had ordered chrome look, letters (R50), for my MINI and didn't like the shiny look, so I fine sanded on them, just to see what they'd look like and got the brushed steel look. Still thinking about using them but I'd imagine the real chrome would look good finished that way.
