Hi There! My 1st post and its (potentially) not good.

Hey guys,

I'll cut right to the chase and head on over to 1st gear after this to introduce myself here in just a few.

I just bought a used 2007 Cooper S from a used dealership.

I know it has an aftermarket exhaust and potentially a few other things but I just got a check engine light on the way home today. I was hoping for some guidance.

I got the following errors:
P173B
P1775
P1774

What do these mean? Ive researched 1775/4 to be drivetrain, but seems peeps just seem to reset them around here? will that bring my power back?

The car as limited its available power, but otherwise seems to be behaving great. And i'm not crippled, i can still keep up with traffic ect, but i dont have full power.

No other sounds, smells, rattles, visuals ect.

If it helps, its been COLD AS ICE here the past week and a half (for as long as ive owned the car now) and i park outside overnight :( i know....

Please help.

I couldn't find any info on P173B for MINI..

But for FORD and AUDI i found it to be "Clutch Actuator Position Sensor Circuit Low"

Sorry I couldn't help anymore

at 54k you are out of warranty, i would depending on how long you have owned the car i would take it back to the dealership and let it be their problem. transmission problems can be very very expensive.

UPDATE: After cruising about I regained full power (which.. i might have had the whole time.. still getting used to how the car is shifting for me based on my driving patterns) and the check engine light went out. I will be driving very aware for the next few days, keeping my eyes and ears open for any signs of ANYTHING.

'preciate the help from you guys. I look forward to posting better news (like new mods!) soon!

Best

do yourself a favor and let the dealer ship know. give them all the information and the codes that where pulled that way if it happens again they can maybe help take care of it

Are you sure you're reading that P173B correctly?

i swear thats what the guy said to me. I had to take it to an orileys to have them read the codes for me. I could very well be wrong tho.

Yeah, take it back. Most states have some sort of lemon law period. If you buy a used car in NY, I believe you have 90 days to let the dealer know if there are any major issues.
