Anyone else have issues with the door armrest?

I went to drive a CM and MCCS today (no MCCS available :( ) and after sitting in the MCCS I sat in the CM and even with the seat all the way down the armrest was still too low to use it comfortably while driving.

Thoughts???

Also, the MCCS seems to envelop you more than the CM and the interior color options are WAY better. The CM definitely drives well, but it's less engaging than the MCCS. Then again, it also has AWD and 5" more length in the hatch.

In the multiple test drives that I have done I guess I didn't really notice the door armrest being an issue but then again I was probably too intent on driving and testing it out.

I think it's a given that the CM won't be as "engaging" as the MCS or MCCS just due to the difference in design and function. Our MCS is like a go kart and hugs the corners at crazy fast speeds which I would never expect the CM to do. Just depends on what you're looking for I guess.

Believe me, I'm not operating under the assumption that the CM will be the same in the performance comparisons, but as I'm sure you've noticed, it almost feels like you're sitting on a stool. It's not bad at all with the seat all the way down but the armrest thing was something that really seemed to stick out. It was really odd how much I noticed it. Maybe with the seat up more I can use the top of the door panel instead.

I'm only 5'9" so maybe I'm a weird "in-between' size??

If you don't mind, can you sit in yours and see if you notice it as well?

Thanks Lindsey.

No, your in the average range and the door arm-rest in the CM is a design fail in my opinion.

The door rests like the center armrest and rail system could be redesigned or should be.

I find I cannot use the door armrest, so I wind up resting my arm in my lap or just keep both hands fully on the wheel.

Of course, in our mountain twisties, you need to keep both hands on the wheel.

I took out my 07 for a local run today, it is a very solid (suspension is modified) little MCS compared to the CM. I love them both.

Figure I will get used to the oversights in design, since we are early adopters.

Yes, the door armrest is not really useable--one of my minor gripes about the car.

So, that padded thing is actually an armrest? Fooled me. Looks like you actually have to be a mini to drive a Mini!

Having said that, I really thought this was some kind of funky trim as it appears to have no function to me. Maybe if I had a big cast o my left arm...

But, I still love this car!
