The wait begins

After a two year stint away from the MINIs, we will have one in the family again as soon as today's order is fulfilled. The Countryman is bringing us back into the fold after a bad R56 cold start experience, and this time the MINI will be my wife's car. I'm really not sure this is a wise idea for our marriage, but hopefully it'll work out.

She's head to toe completely spec'd by my wife and I have to say she did a darn fine job.

Wish us luck on the wait.

Mike

Aside from what you can see in the picture, she'll have
All4
Leather/Cloth: Pure Red
Anthracite headliner
Cold and Premium packages
Arm rest
Bluetooth/iPod
Split rail
and what might be the first ever created Countryman cocomats in black with red dots

I was really torn on MINI Connected, but opted out.

Just make sure the orange is your (or hers) cup of tea. A unique color to say the least. Best to see it in person first if you have not yet.

I have the cocomats in black with white dots. They are still one of my favorite aesthetic mods. My daughter commented on them the other day, guessing she just noticed them after 5 years! Thinking about getting my husband a set for his CM as a gift, shhhh.

She's going for funky so hopefully a hint of orange won't hurt. :-)

Funky is a good word for it. I have never seen a color like it and one that seems so different going from red to orange and then back depending on different angles and light. I was going to get it, but it was just too orange for me.

Flyer53 and Magpullin, I hope our CM's are huddling together on the Faust. Mine was completed 1/12, but I'm still waiting for shipping confirmation as well.

Just received confirmation...the CM is on the Vessel "Faust". Was hoping in made on ... I tracked it to Belgium and then currently @ Southampton for a day then one more stop @ Halifax and off to New York ETA 2-2-11
It's a Great Monday morning..even though the outside temperature reads
(-6 F)

Cool! There are webcams in Halifax you can use to see your vessel arrive and depart. Check the On the Ship to the US thread for details.

When should I expect to get details to track my build? I was surprised I just left the dealership with a list of my features and nothing else.

You need a production number. Some people leave the dealership with it, some get it the next day. Assuming your dealer has a slot they have already put you in you should have it very soon. Did they give you any indication on timing of your order at all, i.e. when it might be scheduled for build.

We LOVE the Countryman. A lot! See the thread "I love my Countryman, but" for my detailed post on what I do not love however.
