R60 Philly area owners - is it worth it to shop around
Philly area owners - is it worth it to shop around
So I've been decided on the Countryman since I test drove an S 2 weeks ago. I've been itching to place an order, but the wife has me second guessing a few options (mainly All4 vs S, and the fact that I haven't seen the green in real life yet). At any rate, I was wondering if it's worth it to try some other dealers in the area. I don't expect to really get much off of list, since it's a new model, but I was wondering what other people's experience may have been.
I live about a mile from MINI of the Main Line so I knew that would be my preferred dealer for service. Given that there is some level of benefit of buying and servicing your car from the same dealership, I also chose to buy from them. My decision was made even simpler by the fact that everyone is selling at or near MSRP so it almost made no difference from a price perspective of where I bought the car.
The management team at Main Line is solid and worked with me well through my order and delivery process which was not without some bumps.

Sorry can't help on the Philly part (except that I was born there LOL). I will say though, that there are some great pics of the green on the picture thread and this guy has a great album.

Hope he doesn't mind me linking to it.
The Oxford Green and the Cosmic Blue were our 2 final choices. We love both and would be happy with either one. We finally went with the Cosmic Blue from a business standpoint. We will be outfitting the Countryman with our company logos and such and the Cosmic Blue is within our colors that we currently use in our marketing. Otherwise it would have probably come down to a coin toss since we really loved both colors.
We were going to do Cosmic Blue with white roof and mirrors, but my husband suddenly decided he'd prefer black wheels and thinks the roof should be black or body color. Once again, I don't really care as long as it's a MINI!

I went with Main Line I purchased my 08 MCS from them with out a hitch, so went back to them for my Countryman. When I purchased my MCS from them I didn't notice a small dent on the "roof gutter" , took it back a day later no problem. As for the price I agree with Midnight, only difference Main Line charged me $500 for deposit the other dealer wanted 1k.
Thanks everyone. Main Line is who I've been dealing with, and so far I've been very happy with them so far. Hopefully I'll place my order this weekend!
inimini2007 - yes, I decided to go for the ALL4.

Order placed!
All4, Green with black roof and the tunnel spoke wheels. Connected (no Nav), cold package, and premium package.
MA talked me out of the adaptive headlights.

Where did you place your order? What was your reps logic in talking you out of adaptive lights? Also you may want to reconsider Nav. It's "only" another $750 and really completes the whole Connected experience. Without Nav, things like Send from Google are moot, plus it has real-time traffic and other cool features. I know it is a personal decision and more money, but you don't want to regret it later. My $0.02.
Thanks Midnight Blue. I was also heavily considering the Cosmic Blue with a black roof, but the color is very similar to the car that I have now, and I wanted to change it up a bit.
As far as the adaptive headlights go, he told me that the Xenons cast a pretty wide beam, and that the adaptives probably wouldn't add a ton, if I was looking to save some cash. If I could have gotten them without having to add the automatic wipers, I would have.
For the Nav, I figured that 95% of my driving is going to be local. We use the wife's car on the weekend to cart the family around. Ditto for any trips. The number of times that I might need the navi, I figured I could just disconnect my iPhone and use google maps. It just seemed to be one thing I could live without to save some dough.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the dealer. Main Line. They are the most convenient. Although I think my MA is a bit absent minded. He often forgets to call me back. Plus, I got an email today, which I expected to be my production number, but instead it was credit and privacy forms that he forgot to have my fill out thursday night. Not sure why I need to fill out the credit forms, since I'm likely getting the loan from my credit union.

We probably have same MA. I wasnt asked to complete a credit app until the car arrived but that was an oversight. I understand why they want them in advance, they don't want to custom order cars for folks that can't actually pay for them.
Congrats on the order punkrock! I also went thru Main Line, and have been pretty happy thus far as well. I just moved from On-order to Schedule for production in the last day or so. Enjoy the suspense!
Hey punkrockdoc! I was just up at Mini of Allentown and they have a Oxford Green with Black roof, if you wanted to see the color in person! It had cold weather and premium package. No xenon or connected, though.
