R50/53 New clutch, flywheel, etc @ 72000
New clutch, flywheel, etc @ 72000
Apparently the transmission issues that I've been experiencing since the accident in late-December aren't directly related to the accident.
Had it been due to the accident, the insurance would've covered the entire repair of the clutch, flywheel, etc. etc.
The repair shop has told me that OEM is the best option since they've had too many customers with issues as a result of aftermarket parts.
$1900.00 which includes BMWCCA discount. If the flywheel doesn't need to be replaced, subtract $350.
I need recommendations for some aftermarket parts, as well as pros/cons.
The only mods (currently) on Schultze are:
DDM Intake
Megan Coilovers
I'm still undecided about reinstalling the Magnaflow exhaust.
I do a LOT of VERY spirited driving.
The Clutchmasters Stage 2 looked interesting...but I need info & feedback from anyone & everyone who has had to replace their clutch & flywheel.

Since it's just a Cooper stick with the OEM, it will be your cheapest option and you won't over power it. I have them in stock if you need one. Otherwise I'd see if you can find another MINI shop in your area that has done a clutch. We usually charge about $1100 out the door for that job.
What is the process for "breaking-in" a clutch?
Other MINIs that I drove as a loaner, they required very little pressing of the clutch, but they were "MCS" so I thought that was the reason.
In fact, there were some issues which required the Service Mgr. to take my car for a spin (obnoxious rotational squeal that got louder the faster I went) and he remarked that it was "obviously my clutch". However, once it was put up onto the lift, it was the black piece that is under the aero bumper that had broken off and was bent back, hitting the front wheel.
Thoughts?
