? to everyone with a CAI

I just went to do my K&N cold air intake install and noticed that my stock intake has two lil sensor things attached to it that cant be transferred.
1) cuz there are no inputs in the K&N for them.
2) the sensor part is not removable from the stock intake
What did you guys do with them and did you get cel's? By the way I have a 2011 MCS.
Anyone whos done a cai please chime in. No cracks about getting a K&N either THanks
Theres one on the right side of the stock tube right in the middle and another right before the turbo by the vent hose.

I would like to hear how this install goes for you. I also have a 2011 MCS that I have been looking to a different CAI. Looks a lot different from the 03 that I previously had. On that one I put a K&N system on it and really liked how well it worked. Seemed like the car was instantly more responsive.

Ive been using K&N on all my cars Honda civic, VW gti, Nissan Altima, Toyota corolla s, (old school) Buick regal. I love how it effects the trottle response and the sound it makes. Hope I can make this work.

After really looking at pictures and the engine and the two intake hoses (stock and oem). I came to the conclusion that I might have to modify my $200+ K&N filter and the $100+ stock intake hoses. Guna try to put those two together..........oh boy.

K&N rep told me via email that they hadn't tested their system with the 2011 MCS. Maybe there is something they are going to have to change.

yeah it seems that there are 2 temp/pressure sensors on the tube coming from the air filter. The cai they have for the 07-10 doesnt have the input hole for one of them and the one thats near the turbo cannot be removed from the stock pipe. I also noticed there is the same presure/temp sensor on the cool air tube coming from the intercooler. Im still guna try to install it, wish me luck.

Ok, I don't have a 2011 and I no longer have a CAI but I did have a CAI.
Not that that part is out of the way I would like to give you an opinion based on my experience with my 2009 MCS.
Send the CAI back to where you bought it and order the K&N drop in filter.

I lost about 15mph off of my top end because of the CAI I was running (that part is not an opinion but a fact)
The only advantage my 2009 had with the CAI was the cool blow off swoosh when I let off of the throttle I experienced NO performance gain on my car.

Take it with a grain of salt.

Well Im determined to get this to work. Im currently modifying the K&N intake tube, being that the stock tube has sensors built into it. I will post pics when Im done. The K&N kit I have is for a R56 but from 2007-10 I believe and the 2011 version hasnt come out yet.

when i had the K&N system on the one by the turbo just went in the new K&N elbow and clamped down... I dont have that middle sensor at all on my 09, so everything fit right on perfectly

well installed the modified intake today. Sounds sick, no need for an aftermarket blow off valve since the stock one can be heard perfectly. I was tryin to take a pic but my phone is dead. I will take some tomorrow.
I admit Im a bit of and *** and was impatient with this mod. I could have waited and paid a bit less for one that fit and i didnt ave to butcher but blah! it was fun and kept me busy. So tomorrow pics will be up.
