Finally!!!

Just got home from the dealership with my new MCS. The drive home was incredible. Hit 100 in no time, I did listen to the adviser about not redlineing and keeping under 4200 for the first 1200 miles. Handling was great. Its Pepper White with black roof and mirrors, power folding/heated mirrors and seats. So many features in this car that Im guna wake up early tomorrow and mess with it, too cold and dark now. I love the mood lighting lol

I never listen to a car salesman about break-in, even if he is called an "advisor." Most salesmen are not mechanics and are just parroting what they have been told.

I have always used the method outlined at MotoMan's website...even before I had seen it.

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Yes it is controversial and it may even scare you to think about doing it, but I have been doing this ever since I first read about this method in Hot Rod magazine in 1965.

Mini also tells you that 18,000 miles is acceptable as an oil change interval...

The only thing you really need to be careful about are the brakes and tires. New pads and tires that still have the mold release agent on them can really ruin your day.

As for the engine, drive it like you stole it from the get go. (once it is fully warmed up!) It will run better and longer.
