I've been researching different chain options for my 205/50/16 tires.

I'd like to take the pass into California without fear I'd have to take the long coast route home (been there - done that) I don't really want to sacrifice good rain traction and performance for winter tires.

This is what I've looked at so far:

Spikes Spider - both compact and Sport Style's - looks like you have to install an (ugly?) adapter for the time you think you might need the chains. The compact version seems to take up the least boot space

Thule K-Summit - I've read some reviews that there is a problem with them coming off? Seem to be a little less $

Rud Centrax - looked like the Thule's - can't seem to find a US place to buy so not sure on the $$.

Wondering what experiences or additional information folks may have on these.
