It's official, I'm one of you guys now!
Hello everyone, I can now say that I'm one of you. I just bought my first Mini. It's a 2008 Lightning Blue Mini Cooper. Every option but Nav. I picked it up today and I have to say, I can't believe 118 hp can move like this. This car is replacing my 2006 Saturn Ion Redline that got totalled last week. This joins the fleet of my other rides. I have a 2004 Cadillac CTS-V, a 91 Corvette making about 450 hp. a 87 Monte Carlo SS and my 65 Malibu SS. I look forward hanging out in this forum and learning and sharing with and from you. Here is the first pic.
Nice ride. The neat thing about any MINI is that "go cart" handling is a standard feature. You don't need to spend bigger bucks on the S or JCW to have a fahrvergnugen experience. By the looks of your other rides, you'll likely experience better gas mileage too, unless you drive like a MINIac

I was looking towards the S from the beginning, but as I looked, it seemed that everyone was very happy with the regular Cooper and the benefits seemed to outweigh any loss in HP. When I drove this yesterday, I could not believe it had the power it did. It boggles the mind. The gas mileage should actually let me make money on my expense account. It's awesome having a car that you can find pretty much anything that you could want for it.

Thank you everyone. It's awesome to amongst friends. I have been a vette guy for a long time and have enjoyed the wave that come from other vettes but it's nothing like the waves from the other minis that I've come in contact with over the last couple of days. This car seems to be a source of happiness. If you know me, there is always mods, even when I say, I'm going to leave something alone. I don't know what yet, but you can bet, I'll be hanging here with you guys and learning what works and what doesn't. I've set it before and I'll say it again, I have never experienced surprise like I have over this car. It surpasses my expectation everytime I get into it. It feels like such a quality car. I was looking over the thread about "things you didn't know about your mini", and I'm learning some cool little facts.
