Wonderful stuff. Used it for years. You'll see better and use the wipers less. At first, all the beaded water is a bit mesmerizing.

I like it too. But recently I've just waxed my windows with nano wax and it seems to work as well.

Con- It tends to smear and streak on the windshield with time.

It works really well on the back side of my web spoke wheels, i.e. it makes them much easier to clean/stay clean; I noticed when I rotate my tires that the parts of the wheel I cannot reach easily when they are mounted come clean very easy! I don't use it on my windshield; have not had good experience for that purpose.

I always used it on the windshield, the side windows, the rear window and even the outside mirrors. Keeps all those glass surfaces pretty clean.

Great Stuff. You end up using the wipers much less and it amazingly helpful when you're caught in a downpour.

I've used it on every car I've owned. I love it! Use more than 1 coat (2 or 3) for best results. It works so well, you'll hardly ever use your wipers. The harder it rains, the better it works.

BTW, Rain-x also makes an anti-fog for the inside that works great as well.

Don't put it on any of the plastic, though.

And the only down side to me is that it always makes the dark part (out toward the edges) of the windows look smeared a bit when I clean the car.

Rain-Ex wiper fluid does the job without the hand application work. Only neg I see is night time driving all the water beads tend to reflect light of on-coming traffic more than without Rain-Ex. Still run my wipers.

Works good in the snow too.

Are you getting ready for your first winter with the MINI yet?

Just applied it to my front and rear windows. I swear by it because it reduces the amount you need to use your wipers, especially at high speeds. Also, it helps clean dew off your windshield much easier in the mornings.
My suggestion is first make sure your surface is really clean; apply it pretty heavily, then let it sit. I go back and apply polish to my wheels and clean the inside windows after applying, so it's usually 15-20 minutes. Then when removing the stuff, don't rub too hard, but rub with enough pressure to really get it off. Then go back with a second clean towel and rub it off some more. If you leave any of it on there visibly, it hazes really bad and makes it less effective.

I don't use the actually Rain-X stuff on my side windows, I use the glass cleaner version instead. It claims it cleans and Rain-Xes your window all at once, but it doesn't cause the same small-beading action. Instead, the water clumps and rolls off in larger ***** and sheets. This, I find, improves the clearing of the side windows since there's no wipers there to remove the small beads.

So I have the heated/auto-dim side mirrors. I was a little concerned about applying the Rain-X to them because I didn't know if it would alter the dimming properties. Anyone know?

Love it!

Only con is that you can not apply any stickers after putting on the window because they will not stick well. You have to get on it with some rubbing alcohol before applying stickers.

It's wonderful stuff! Especially on the Clubman's rear windows. I haven't run the rear wipers since I applied Rain-X there.

Don't put Rain-X on the inside of the glass, it'll fog up like crazy! Use the Rain-X anti fog instead.

+1. Took a single wipe to get rid of morning dew this morning. Rain often builds up on the roof too and pools on the windows..I'm hoping this treatment ends that. Any sharp rake window surface will benefit from RainX

My only problem left is the condensation/dew built up on the outside of the windows. I tried running my defogger this morning and it didn't help, and the whole "window down, window up" trick only cleared half I have the RainX cleaner treatment on these windows, but not straight up RainX, but it didn't seem to help

+ it works great.

- it can be very hypnotizing.

- if you have normal wiper blades and have a need to use the wipers no problem. I had these fancy triple edge blades once. They worked great
by themselves. But they grabbed the rainex, stuck, and broke my
wiper arm mechanism (the rod that goes back and forth behind the scenes
to move the wipers)
