Sun Visor mirror door
Sun Visor mirror door
Any thoughts out there on how to fix the little door that covers the mirror ?
Mine won't stay open and it has to be held open to use the mirror.
New visors are $ 80-90 so any repair thoughts would be helpful. . . . . . . . .

I fixed mine. Had to remove he mirror from the visor. I left the wires connected. There are 2 little metal clips at the top hinge. The plastic breaks and they back out. If you loose the metal clip you could be out of luck.
The fix is to carefully press the clips back into position and epoxy them in place. I used some masking tape to keep tension off the wires while the epoxy dried.
In order to hold the mirror in the visor I cut away some of the hidden material to gain access to the plastic base. I then attached some high strength velcro to the visor and mirror then pressed it into place.
That was on the drivers side visor and now the pass side is droopy so I will be fixing that one next.
Hope this helps.
