I was popping the hood, to show a friend the engine, and to my surprise, found that the supercharger had dead mosquitos plastered all over it. I guess that they just get sucked into the intake as I drive. I live in SW Florida, where mosquitos are the bane of my existence. My county, in fact, has the highest budget in the country to fight them. It just makes me happy to do my part.

Actually, you probally meant to say your intercooler... i've had quite a few moth splats (you can actually hear some of them hit my car) and besides the bugs stuck in my intercooler, and my oil cooler (what is the name for thoes?) i had a few bees stuck in my radiator...

The Unauthorized Owner's Manual states that:

"Bug guts on the grille and muddy fenders are the signs of a healthy, well motored life."

I have been meaning to post on this topic for a while. I have never had a car that was such a bug killer. I drove through a cloud of love bugs the other day and it sounded as if it was raining! I had to take an extra hour for lunch just to wash the car! And during the first week I had it I found a Huge Cricket dismemberd in the lower Grille. I had to pull the legs out one by one.

Anyway My advice is to Polish the bonnet (and front bumber) well, then the splats wipe off with far less effort.

Anybody called thier MINI 'Raid' ? I'm thinking of that name for mine.

And hey, Mother's makes a tar and bug wipe, and it works pretty good... I use them for the side mirrors, which start to look green after a while...

I;m glad I'm not the only one who has discovered the green splats on the mirrors! Somehow RIGHT after I wash and wax her it is inevidable that I will hear the distinct SPLAT of a big juicy one on my windshield. Grr...
