I was considering the Sprint Booster as well, however I believe you can get a tune sent to you from Revolution Motor Works that will do the same thing plus some additional changes for the same price.

its not going to be as significant change on throttle response with the tune. u can search sprint booster and find that the tune will help but no where near the sprint booster. I have had one for 3 months if ya want more pep and get up and go then its amazing. expect no increase in HP. great product to solve the mini sluggish electronic throttle.

it also come with a 30 day money back guarantee so why not give it a shot.

I love my SB. Would not drive without it BUT $350? I do not remember paying that much for mine.

As for the Useless chip, I mean Uni-chip don't bother you'll be sorry. They never worked right.

Don't waste your money ! ! As Way has said, they don't work and can cause all kinds of problems.

The sprint booster is a great way to increase the throttle response, but it does NOTHING to improve power.

I have a Velocity Throttle Booster (same thing, just a little better as far as usability IMO), and I can't live without it now. It makes a huge difference and indeed makes the car feel quicker because of the vastly improved throttle response. Doesn't improve power, but without a single doubt makes my Clubbie S much quicker-feeling.

Engine tunes are great, too, but for this particular purpose what I like about the Velocity is that I can turn it off completely if I need/want to, and can also remove it easily when I go to the dealer for service. The SB requires more button pushes (the Velocity has a separate on/off switch in addition to the four levels of throttle boost) and doesn't have as many steps as the Velocity does, but it's also a tad cheaper.

These claims of making the car faster is pure vaporware. The only difference in acceleration times would be the difference in the time it takes to press the gas pedal to the floor. These products simply fool the car into thinking the gas pedal is being pressed farther than it actually is, so the initial response time is improved and most noticeable at part throttle applications. But at a full throttle application the difference would so minute as to be indefinable.

If anyone is claiming that it actually makes the car faster then they're wrong. I changed my description above to reflect that.

But it positively, without a single doubt, makes the car FEEL faster and makes it much more pleasurable to drive (for me, anyway). It's like the difference that having the Sport button on makes: faster response, more enjoyable drive. I have not met anyone who has actually tried one of these devices that doesn't like it.

Indeed, the Sprint booster, and apparently your product, do improve the feel of the car. The throttle-by-wire is an area that can use a definite improvement and should have been addressed by MINI/BMW.

Yeah, I would agree there. If there was one specific thing about the MINI that I would say detracts from the driving experience, it would be the throttle response at small, gradually-increasing pedal inputs around idle (when you're trying to finesse it): push a little bit ... very little response ... push a little bit more ... still very little response ... push a little bit more ... still very little response ... push a little bit more ... hang on!

I guess I'm a bit baffled why this aspect seems to have eluded BMW/MINI...? Drive-by-wire is not new technology; among others, the C5 Corvette incorporated it when it was introduced back in 1997, and its throttle response is much more linear around idle... And if these aftermarket outfits can get it right for the MINI, I would think the manufacturer could too; especially when one can be reasonably sure that BMW has been using it for at least as long as Chevrolet...

When I feel that I need a more "instant" throttle response, I push the Sport button. Does the booster do anything for the response when turned to Sport? Or is it simply to improve the response when the "normal" operation mode is in effect?

The improvement is noticeable in both normal and sport mode.

Guess I'll have to start using it on a regular basis too, if I want the throttle response I expect from this kind of car...
