Help 2 warning lights are on

My mini has both the Service engine soon light and ASC light on, does anyone know what it could mean?
Thanks

Service engine light could be a whole mess of things. Was it doing anything prior? Best bet- get the codes ran and fix what caused the light.

Your ASC light could also be a couple different things. Again-get it ran and see why the light came up. Hope it's not a ASC control unit, those are very pricey.

Bottom line- lights come on for a reason, go get them checked. You have it easy. Most people have problems with no lights and it's a wild goose chase trying to mend those problems. Good luck!

This is also a great example of why everyone should have a scan gauge of some sort.

I have a scan tool, it came up with

P0031 Ho2 heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 1
P0037 Ho2 heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 2
P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit bank 1 single sensor
P0445 System purge control valve circuit shorted

I now found a blown fuse, replaced it, than blew again so now i have to look for a short. I need to find some wiring diagrams, does anyone know where i could find some?

That's good that you have the scan tool.

Now you need the Bentley service manual. If you already have it as well, it's got the wiring diagrams.

I don't, I have some CD thing I got as a gift, it has everything in it except the Wiring. I was wondering if anyone knew of an online place or had photos. I think it has to do with the AC compressor.

It is the F3 14A fuse under the hood, I am not sure if it is dealing with the AC compressor or not yet. I am going to try and unplug that to see if it still blows or not.

omg I LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!

I have spent the past couple weeks wondering why my AC wasnt cold anymore and also I was getting those same obd codes. But th main issue was it took Foreverrrrrrr to start the car. I changed the 15a fuse and now she cranks right up first try I will see if it blows again but I assume its because i had the air on full blast a couple weeks ago and it was 95 out. ???

I found my problem, it was simple. I remember a few months ago I was driving at night and a branch fell in front of me, I ran over it and the ASC light came on. So I pulled over and looked to see what it had done. I didn’t see anything I started the car and it went away. Then I was running my AC for days because it was 100 all week then it went out. I looked at saw the fuse had gone out. But they kept on blowing. I pulled the codes with my scan tool then realized it must be a bad ground. So I looked over the codes and when I went to check the 02 sensors I found that the O2 sensor after the cat had been pinched into the clamp that was holding it, and there were little pieces of wood along with it, there was the problem so I taped it up and everything is running swell

dustinhxc what I would suggest is to run your AC a lot and if it does it again, unplug the compressor ( probably won’t need it for winter) and see if it blows out again. If it does blow the fuse then you will have to troubleshoot which is a pain, but if it doesn’t then most likely it is your AC compressor. Hope this is of any help

I hope this is the problem, so I will try taping the bottom of it and then putting a new fuse in. if that doesnt work I will have the exhaust shop relocate it hopefully sideways instead of vertical maybe?? I need more 15 fuses.

Be sure when you tape it to tape each wire individually. Be sure to keep the isolated. If you did it correctly the ASC/ DSC light will turn off but the service engine light will stay on, it would have to be cleared with a scan tool.
