Absolute stupidist question of the day ????

Next month I will have My JCW for Two full years. I have traveled a little over 15,000 miles.

--------------The question is:::-------------------------------------------

Why do I feel like it is still a brand new car to me????

I keep it spotless.

I can't help looking at it.

Every time I drive it I get a big smile in my brain.

I'm still excited when I talk about it. ( it seems that every time I come out of a store there is someone asking if I like my car) I still do !!!

So why after almost two years it still feels new to me.???????????????

Ronnie, it's the magic and allure that is MINI that makes you think that way...

We all suffer from that most insidious of conditions... MINImania!

But really, what's not to like? Great handling, good performance, great looks all wrapped up in a MINI package! Priceless!

BTW, lovely MINI, nice pic... (taken at the infield at Daytona?)

I've had my 2010 for five weeks and that's exactly how I feel.
It's nice to know that in five years, I'll still feel the same way.
Love it!

It's nice to hear that the "honeymoon is never over" with the mini! That the "newness & novelty" never wear off. We haven't had ours long & it's nice to know that feeling of pride is going to last for years to come!

Beautiful MINI and +1 on feeling the love after years of MINI ownership. The longer I keep my 09 MCS the longer I want it to last. I've read several posts in the 1st gen section about how they want to keep theirs forever and I feel the same way about mine. I love it. ..perma-grin and all.

I'm still a committed miniac after 8 years of motoring! I think it has something to do with 50 years of built-in design/motoring heritage combined with BMW DNA. There are a few other car models that affect people this way too. Read about it yourselves here: http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...t-be-surprised

From 2002 to 2010 it looks basically the same and you almost never see one that has been let go appearance wise!

I was okay with that article until I realized we were being classified in the same group as priuses....

I thought the article was about cars that had heritage and staying power... not a car that's been around 4 years.

The prius is not a car like a Jeep, Mini or Miata where they have a following and will fight to the death to defend that car, it's an ugly car that gets good gas mileage.

Having said that... my mother (retired, lives in FL) had one that she drove all the time over her Lexus SC430. She loved that car and ended up trading it in on a Hybrid Camry last year.

Well, guess what... Monday, she takes delivery of her 2010 Pepper White MCSa with JCW bodykit and custom made black leather seats with white piping. (hehe... no influence here)

I agree the Prius is hardly an enthusiast's car, and it doesn't belong in the article, but it does seem to have a pretty loyal following.

With your Mom buying a tear-up-the-street MCSa, it sounds like you might have a loyal following too .

I have both a 2010 Prius and a 2007 MCSc. The Cooper is here for fun spirited driving, while he Prius gets 57 mpg, and allows me on the HOV lane with just me driving to work alone. Honestly I would rather do the HOV rather than a 6 speed in bumper to bumper traffic. When not going to work, it's MINI all the way. Yes the Prius drives like an under powered boat wih the handling as such. I do gets waves or nods and have other Prius owners talk to me, so yes there is a following. Each car has it's purpose, and the Prius has one too. A boring, great gas mileage, no sit in traffic, HOV Champion automobile.
