Should I get Chrome Wheels for my WhitePepper

I'm thinking of buying chrome wheels for my 2010 mini cooper s white pepper. I'm also planning to get jcw aero kit for my car as well. I'm trying to save up.
I wanted to find out if anyone might be able to post their mini photos with their chrome wheels. And if you might have any suggestions about getting chrome wheels.
I'm thinking of taking my current rims and trading it in for chrome ones. I saw it on www.lawheel.com I have style 94.

I wanted to buy these rims

I've always thought that chrome wire wheels would look good on a Pepper White MINI - kind of old-school "Austin-Healyish".

I don't know, but it seems to be pretty expensive for a set of chrome plated rims.

As much as I'm against chrome rims (at least for a mini), I already paid for a 2010 Cooper S for my mother last week. I ordered a prepainted JCW aerokit for it and now she wants chrome rims.

I told her when we were looking for a mini for her that chrome does not go on a mini.... however, if there was an exception to that rule, it would be pepper white (which is what she got)

I'm gonna research pricing though, that does seem a little steep.

I went that same route on our Laser Blue 2010. No worries dealing with LA Wheel - FAST turn around - rec'd 6 days from eBay win via FedEx home delivery - rec'd PayPal deposit back in 4 days after they rec'd the cores back. I prepaid for the return shipping, easy drop-off at any FedEx Kinko's that are everywhere.

Heck you might get my wheels in exchange - they only had a few hundred miles on them!

Sure you can get chrome wheels aftermarket for much less like $400 a set and up, but a search of possibilities from sources like TireRack.com did not turn the wife's fancy. Too fine of spokes.

Also douptfull you will come acoss another MINI with BLING BLING 94s.... Unless we cross paths!

JUST BE SURE YOUR WHEEL INSTALLER TORQUES THE WHEELS TO 103 ft lbs! Mine did NOT, and did not tell me to return in 50 miles to re-torque them. One came loose in 450 miles on a mountain pass! The left front in the picture below in fact - luckily I sensed it and tightened the lugs before any damage occured. All 4 wheels were closer to 50 ft lbs!

I think chrome wheels can look nice, especially with a white car. I would be concerned about brakedust. When I got new wheels, I was all about which color hides the dust the best (ended up with a dark gray). But, if dust doesnt bother you (different pads, unlimited cleaning time or just pain doesnt bother you), then I say go for it! I also say, pictures when you are done!

Chrome belongs on retro cars - all old cars had lots of chrome.

The dust seems stick less and cleans off easier than the silver powder coated wheels. But it's there alrighty - a brake dust fog can be seen in the pic I posted above. Going to wear out the stock pads before and if we go to low dust. Like the performance of the stock pads, and that's all that matters to me.

Paying 750 bucks for a set of wheels and losing wheels you can use as winter wheels

I'd save up for another week and nab something sweet.

You can buy the 94 blings outright too. Have no need for winter wheels on the wee MINI. That's the 4x4 diesel truck's job - along with it's winter wheels and BridgeStone Blizzaks.
